This is a type of aversion to Moral Event Horizon.
Will I be informed if people reply to my discussion post?

- In Rainbow Six, Clark and Ding are hardened special forces badasses who've done many questionable things. Clark in particular has carried out creatively vicious Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique. Nevertheless, they find the Curb-Stomp Battle against the eco-terrorists so one-sided it's pure murder.
Because the trope description says, "These characters find that when they're in a situation where they would cross a certain line, they don't do it. Or they get disgusted at those who do cross that line." They do "cross the line" in the book, in that they do murder them. And I don't think the fact that they slightly regret (if any regret at all) their actions qualifies as this trope.
