Make a sandbox and test if ORT's folder passes the required at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces) for a character page. Otherwise, I have no objections.
Getting a page length warning. Best options are probably to split Lostbelt 6 characters off into their own page, split off any characters with a particularly long folder (I expect Aurora, Cernunnos, or ORT will be the likeliest candidates), or (I expect this to be not used since it's my minority opinion) also split Ordeal Call off into its own thing as a separate arc for characters as well.
Edited by Nouct Hide / Show RepliesSplitting Ordeal Call is definitely the most future-proofing option.
Well, no one has objected to splitting Ordeal Call off, so that's what I'm going to do now.
Supposed Cernunnos nerf: Okay, here's the fundamental thing: for it to be a nerf, there needs to fundamentally be an idea that it was done to make this one thing less powerful. At most there is an idea (I have yet to see direct comparative evidence) that skills which would kill a Servant via HP drain over the end turn will not actually kill them. Consequently, one of Cerny's ancillary abilities will therefore not kill people in a particular extreme scenario.
For this to be a nerf to the Cernunnnos boss fight, there's kind of the requirement to prove that it was brought in to make Cerny easier to deal with? We've gotten direct nerfs in GO in the past week; they completely blocked one of Rasputin's skills (and some other stuff I don't remember) so that the current tower floor 60 didn't get randomly screwed by RNG when trying to hit the actual targets.
Avatar Source Hide / Show RepliesI've said my piece below, regardless of my view the debuffs not killing may be purposeful, or may be another piece of code just screwing things up like with Mecha Eli 1's np having visual glitches for no reason in this latest na update. Better to play safe than sorry. This is why we need patch notes, to prevent edit wars.
So I posted Cernunnos got nerfed, and this might spiral into an edit war so I want to discuss this here before it gets to that point. Raineh Daze and I discussed this in P Ms and they say that this is not necessarily a change in Cerny's boss fight but in another part of the game code, especially since we don't have patch notes. I do believe that he got nerfed, but I'd rather err on the side of caution and leave it out if there's room for doubt.
Hide / Show RepliesAlso started a discussion about this, referencing the recent JP tower event. TL;DR version (but please engage on that other comment if possible): there's too little to go on to just stick a big nerf block on some character sheet.
Avatar SourceAnimeJapan merch got revealed and in it, they call the Faerie Knights "Tam Lin". Does that mean we need to change most if not all instances of "Faerie Knight" into that? Mind you, these pins have been like 95% consistent with official English version, with the only exception being with Ivan, as he is called "Ivan Grozny" there.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! What's Muryan doing on the villains' page? When did she ever antagonize Chaldea or Arthuria?
Hide / Show RepliesI admit that when I was separating Murayn tropes from Kazuradrop, I wasn't sure on what kind of status Muryan had as a character in Avalon le Fae. Should probably be moved to Other Characters.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Re: Tamamo Vitch, since LB 3's intro just came out in NA, I think the spoilers should stay for a month to give people time to read through the stories for themselves, then remove them and leave a spoiler warning about her true identity.
Hide / Show RepliesOkay, I have removed all spoilers regarding Vitch's identity reveal, however kept the markup for LB 4 / 5 spoilers (not out in NA) and stuff regarding being a Beast since the bulk of that stuff is revealed in Olympus.
EDIT: also I'm going to bed now, so if people have opinions about which image to use for her, I probably won't be around to read them until tomorrow.
Edited by NouctShould the section for Chapter 4.5: Imaginary Scramble be moved to Lostbelt Event? It's an event and since 3.5 Ooku's characters are there, I think Imaginary Scramble should be moved there too.
Hide / Show RepliesActually, I think Nobutsuna (and Kasuga, who surprisingly doesn't have one right now) should have their folders in other characters.
With Ashiya's impending release in JP server's gacha on Friday, there should probably be some discussion on how to handle his character sheet.
Something broke in text formatting for Koyanskaya's folder and I'm not sure what caused it to break.
Hide / Show RepliesIsolating the pic/captions by themselves, they work fine so it's a foldering or profile problem?
IIRC, if a labelnote in the image broke, probably a previous labelnote above doesn't have a closing tag.
Looking at the page source/history, try searching for the instance of "Fantasy Trees". Specifically, this entry below doesn't have a [[/labelnote]] tag
- Dub Name Change: Their Japanese name translates to "Fantasy Trees", yet the official English version of the game calls them "Trees of Emptiness". [[labelnote:Explaination]] The first character in the word "fantasy" can be read as "void" or "empty". This puts the emphasis on the "ephemereal" nature of the fantasy, implying something about the actual nature of the Lostbelts.
Can people please link the sources (datamining or official media) on Demeter and Aphrodite's actors?
If it's the FGO subreddit or youtube with someone saying that they have this voice actor, that's not really a source, that's just an unverified claim. Searching Hidaka's twitter or her instagram shows that she hasn't made any comment about FGO ever.
Remember when everyone was super sure that Odysseus would be voiced by Creator.Kazuhiko Inoue? And then it turns out he wasn't.
Edited by Nouct Hide / Show RepliesDue to the lack of any source provided here, or in the FGO forum thread when Ano Baka Desu asked about it, I will be removing their credits because of the lack of any kind of official verification from game files/Type-Moon/the actors' online platforms.
It's only now that a source from one of the game's staffs that the names Hidaka Noriko and Aya Hisakawa appear on the Japanese credits, he added alphabetical starting letters to know who's who, which means Zeus was done by Hiroyuki Kinoshita. Here you go.
I added this before in the edit reason. But then, the TVT outage happened so the edit reason was wiped out.
How is the Weaksauce Weakness examples in the Lostbelt King folder Weaksauce Weaknesses? Weaksauce Weakness is when someone is weak to something dumb, not "How these super-powerful beings got unravelled due to different factors". Only one that even feels like one is Qin almost being taken out by a computer virus due to how absurd a supercomputer being infected by a smartphone sounds like.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Hide / Show RepliesWould there be a better trope for how they are all beaten? I did put down that weakness are exposed because of the civil war. Ivan is made to sleep by music so that Kadoc and LB Anastia can use his forces, and a rebel group was formed because of his well intentioned taxes. The only way to bring his Phantasmal, Types-like mamoth is with the help of Avicebron's golem, Musashi, and after that, then losses his Crown and is left running on fumes. Arjuna though he was perfect, but in reality wasn't. An opening was created to bring back Karna in his strongest form. Zeus though nothing of the hundreds of servants who died trying to topple his Lostbelt. In the end he's beaten by the sacrifices of said servants, with their cores used in chain-summoning Ares, and his authority is overwritten by Grand Lancer, who is summoned by another sacrifice, Caliuga.
I don't know if there is any appropriate trope for what you're looking for, but the examples given are definitely Square Peg, Round Trope. Like Ivan for example. Only real "weakness" on him is him getting delusional due to thinking that Anastasia was his Anastasia and being lulled to sleep with music. But that is hardly a "weaksauce" thing. Even his mammoth form was only beaten when Adam forcefully tore him off it. Mind you, Adam is no slouch, with it taking Clarent Blood Arthur and Balmung to be defeated after its connection with Eden was removed. Skadi's part is particularly ridiculous as it implied "Having no power left after trying to keep a world-ending giant at bay and then having to fight it off for real=weakness".
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Worf had the flu then? I would like to keep the info down at least, but I seriously don't know what trope fits best for it.
Only one that would fit Worf Had the Flu if you were to ask me would be Skadi since she wasn't running with full power from the start. Maybe there isn't a trope for this, and trying to fit every single story beat with an umbrella trope doesn't work.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! It's weird, but for some reason, I have a weird desire to add the other Lostbelt Kings, at least with the story characterization. It still be different than the playable version, but still.
Does anyone know the names of the other Olympians' mech forms yet? i.e. Poseidon=Plant-ship
Seeing a page length warning popping up. As Nouct suggested earlier, characters with long folders, particularly ORT, should get their own pages. What does everyone else think?
