openGame where you fix a broken mirror/glass? Videogame
I think this was a Big Fish or Wild Tangent game? All I remember is a white haired girl and trying to fix a broken mirror/glass where you had to move rope where they didn’t cross over each other? The girl was like cursed or something? It may have had an anime style.
Edited by Steampunkerresolved GBA tetris-like construction game. (Solved) Videogame
As the title implies it was a GBA game were you would build an structure by connecting tetrominoes. The goal was to deal as much damage to your opponents building as possible by creating weapons and protecting yourself with walls, you could also summon a powerful ally that would dealt heavy blows to the opponent. I can remember that it had, at minimum, 3 settings: An stone age setting that had a giant that would destroy things with a club, a middle ages setting that would summon a dragon and a moon setting that would summon an spaceship.
P.D.: It was Fortress (2001).
Edited by megagutsmanopenWeird game, need help Videogame
So, I'm looking for this one mobile game that I used to play a lot when I was little. Basically, it was a game where you moved into a shoddy, run-down house and a cute little ghost guy helped you renovate it and help your family flourish. You collected coins and purple gems. The art style was lineless and everyone had Black Bead Eyes, if I recall correctly. I remember soap operas being a thing on the old TV. It connected to Facebook, like a lot of the odd social games I played at the time. I have a pretty vivid memory of it, but I cannot for the life of me find it on the app store nowadays. Somebody help me?
resolved Building for goblins??? Videogame
I remember about some months ago seeing a rather cute pixel art game where you play as a little white figure on a small island. You eventually get more stuff to build up and literally expand said island, bit by bit, and you also build shelter for tiny goblin-like creatures (green, pointy ears) and in return they may help you or something. I tried to find it again, and came across Forager, which looks very similar to what I remember seeing in terms of artstyle, but there doesn't seem to be any goblin inhabitant whatsoever, and you build stuff differently for different purposes. I'm just trying to make sure if I remembered correctly and that's a real game, or if I just misremembered what I saw and it was indeed Forager. Or if I just dreamt it all up.
Edited by Jason444openTarot reading video game Videogame
A 80s-90s Nintendo (?) video game about tarot card reading. There are rumours that it could predict deaths. A character (?) from the game, Taboo gets in to Smash Bros as assist trophy if I can recall...
openonline PVP car "racing" game Videogame
In the mid-late oughties I remember playing an online gave with one on one car car racing against other players that I found from an ad or something. The "racing" is in scare quotes because there wasn't any real-time driving physics. Rather the game would simulate the race and show you the result as a series of blow by blow events e.g. "player 1 did an epic drift", "player 2 is having a bad time after crashing into a pile of rocks", that sort.
One particular thing I remember is that it has a premium currency called "Red Something" which was a very obvious Bland-Name Product Red Bull, but I can't remember what the second word was beyond it being some animal.
Edited by paradisedj32open3D horror game with EXTREMELY gorey and graphic death screens and it's sequel? (Self-Completed) Videogame
So about a year and a half, two years ago, I remember there was... like, an extremely graphic horror game. Tv Tropes probably won't have a page on it, because JEEZ was this game gorey. I remember it involved a lady going to a house... possibly for her inheritance from her father?
The story was basically her trying to escape from the most horrible death traps. What I remember, however, were the insane number of death screens that she could suffer: One trap has her trying to avoid a mannequin with a cloth-covered cage on it's head, which it used to grasp her head if it caught her (It only moved when the lights would change to red, I think?) and then twisted her head off slowly.
Another death screen was... it sticks out in my head, because I remember there was an "artist" who wanted to turn her into some kind of art piece. One of them basically had a silent (thankfully) film reel of the woman waking up and finding her body... I guess pregnant, but completely nude. Then she was tortured because the... THING that came out of her (I can't call it a child, cuz it sure wasn't human) killed her as it was "birthed".
Then there's a death where there's some ghoul in a wheelchair who psychically bent her body into little more than a pretzel.
There were tons of other deaths, too, but I distinctly remember that the game got a sequel (of sorts) but I forget the name of both of them. The thing is: The first game was definitely a semi-side scroller (2d plane movement, that much I'm sure of) but the sequel was fully 3d, and in the demo they showed, the main character of the sequel climbs out of what appears to be a giant vagina.
Swear to god, I am not making this up.
Edited by DrSanjiZantopenContra(-like?) with "good" ending involving the world blowing up (Found by myself) Videogame
I seem to remember reading somewhere about a port of Contra (or there being an old Contra-like game, I'm not sure) where the only ending involves the damage done to the alien base somehow causes the world (which, for reference, is Earth) to explode - I'm pretty sure I remember whoever was describing it saying it was a complete kick in the teeth, "THAT'S my reward???" kind of stuff.
Of course, now that it's actually crossed my mind again (both from a CTRL+F on the Contra page and a quick glance at some endings), I can't find the damn thing, so I figured I'd ask here to see if it actually exists or if I just dreamed the whole thing up.
Edited by Rex-Blanchimont-ZEROopenThere was a phone app with a lion called Toby... Videogame
...or something like that. He meets two other animals: a male anteater and a female whose species I've forgotten. They find a ring each: Toby's is blue, the FWSIF's is red, and the anteater's is green. The rings are magical, although I forgot exactly what they do, and there's a sequence where they trap some dude, who was previously riding around on a tornado, inside a bottle.
At the end, there's a music video called "Circle of Colors" which comes in three different languages.
The gameplay mostly resembles that of Visual Novels.
If anyone knows what this app is called, PLEASE tell me. I've been looking for it everywhere but cannot find it.
Edited by ReshpeckowiggleopenWeb game(s)/site about technological edutainment? Videogame
My memory on this game(s) or site is VERY hazy, but the gist of it that I recall is that I likely played it online, and it occurs in a world of personified technological concepts. I kinda remember spam-mail being represented as a rather ugly female caricature with heavy makeup and lipstickwd Gag Lips.
I lean towards at least some of it being in a not-that-refined 3D style (early 2000s stuff likely), but I recall more than one way that the gameplay panned out, all having a 3rd-person view, but it may be that they both existed.
- You explore your surroundings by clicking on adjacent sides of the screen (where a path starts/continues), the player character walks that way and the scene changes to that adjacent area. Not quite a birds-eye-view as the "board game" mode, but far enough to see most of the surrounding area and paths to take.
- A layout akin to a board game, where you walk on squares that join to perpendicular paths. Some squares are desirable to be/land on, some are not. I believe the "spam mail lady" that I mentioned earlier was here as an undesirable square. I vaguely recall the objective: to reach a computer lab, which was either at the middle of the map, the end of the "maze", or both.
openAn Indie Horror Game Involving An Animal Cult Videogame
The game is designed to look like an old ds/gameboy game (or similar handheld console); the main character is a delivery guy, I believe a pizza guy. It starts trying to deliver a pizza to a trailer park type area, but quickly spirals into horror after finding a girl who is clearly scared. I don't recall a lot, but I'm just going to list things:
- You get a gun, I think a shotgun.
- You go into a building farther back with a guy you met who is looking for someone (You have to shoot a padlock to progress)
- You can find notes talking about people being "ready" or not.
- IIRC it's a very muted color pallet, or possibly just in black and white.
- It is online only, was not a real game produced from the device its modeled to look like.
- The game at least implies that people in the cult are being turned into animals.
- After leaving the girl you find early on in your car, you come back and find your car trashed, possibly a door missing, and she's gone.
- Either Markiplier or Jacksepticeye played through it in a video with a few horror games. (It was definitely played in the past 5 years, but I don't know more accurate than that)
- One of the final lines was from a guy saying something similar to "Why can't you just leave us alone!?"
- A good few of the characters have slightly unsettling designs (not anything extreme, but I think stuff like their proportions were off)
- It was a very short game.
openTrying to find a game from my childhood. Videogame
I'm trying to find a game from my childhood that I vaguely recall playing/seeing played. From what I recall, it was a 2D adventure game with point and click mechanics, possibly similar to Blackthorne, Prince of Persia, and Another World. It was science fiction by genre, with a human protagonist on possibly an alien world. The part that sticks out distinctly for me is a brief section moving through an open area outside of an alien base, I believe killing an alien was involved, beyond which you would come across a door with a hand scanner. I distinctly remember the hand scanner having three digits (two fingers and one thumb), and may have required a borrowed biometric bypass. Beyond these details, I can't remember much else.
opena flash game platformer Videogame
a game about owen from total drama island on a bicycle cycling through an icy landscape. unsure if it was official or a fan creation. probably about a decade old at this point. i've looked and i can't find it ANYWHERE. someone with a better memory than me, help.
openNo Title Videogame
A flash game I came across several years ago, it was about a little white guy who (as I recall) had a leaf on his head or something like that. In the game, the main character lived in a kind of tree, the main objective of the game was to take care of the house and resources because otherwise, the main character would die in one or more ways, I remember that in one ending his house literally fell on top of him. It was a game that taught how to take care of the environment, but in a very weird way.
openSecret of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Videogame
Alright, maybe you guys can help me with this. I am recently playing the Secret of Monkey Island 2: Lechuck's Revenge, on Steam, with special editions, such as an audio commentary, and the three guys mentioned that the library has several references. A part in particular is one that one of the three found online, Guybrush and Lechuck turn out to be brothers and they had a fight over something trivial when they were kids. The media referenced is that two kids thought that they were kids when they were actually robots and did not realize that they were dead, and one kid sees dead people. I automatically thought 'o-k, the Sixth Sense', but that movie came out in 1999 and the game came out in 1991.
Does this seem familiar to anyone else? I am wrecking my mind over this, and I cannot find anything online. Please help, thank you.
Edited by thestormtrooperopenTruman show-esque indie game Videogame
I'm looking for a game where you watch out as somekind of special high school student (could be a god, an alien, idk) lives a seemingly normal life experiencing everiday things and growing up, but your job is to make sure they learn valuable things. To that end you hire extras for they to meet, among other things that reminded me of the first part of the anime Blood-C.
VN novel style, text based, min artwork (faceless characters, IIRR), Slice of life. Asian developer. That's all I can recall.
open(SOLVED) Old pre-installed phone games, platformer and virtual pet Videogame
Suddenly remembered these pre-installed games I had on my first phone, a non-smartphone with a keyboard and color screen (think it was a Nokia but not 100% sure) and want to know what they were and what they were called. I got the phone in my early teens or possibly preteens, so mid-late 2000s.
One of the games was a platform game starring some mascot character who I think vaguely resembled Rayman, but without the floating limbs. The first world/level was a forest-based world where you'd jump across trees, or possibly a Green Hill Zone (pretty sure it was a green nature environment either way) - I don't remember other worlds because I never got very far in the game thanks to the bad controls. I think it also started with an intro with text and pictures, explaining how the main character had to save the world or save someone or some generic platformer story like that?
The other game was a virtual pet game where you'd care for a creature of the same species as the character from the game above (if not the platformer character himself) and the main gimmick was taking pictures of something of a certain color with your phone camera. For example, they would be hungry, show a blue box in a speech bubble, and you'd "feed" them by taking a photo of something blue. The game mainly took place in this character's house and you could switch between a few different screens.
(If it helps, the phone also had a third game unrelated to the characters and world of the other two - I don't even remember what it was since I barely played it but think it might have been some kind of puzzle game)

the recent "house of leaves" inspired doom map by Veddge on the doomworld forum. has a ton of backstory stuff. I can't find a page for it here, and it should really be on tvtropes.
openAn old Edutainment game Videogame
Theres an old edutainment game I have faint memories of from the early 2000's, you play as the assistant to a green monster detective, playing language games (A horse racing arcade game where you had to create a word letter by letter in alternating turns, a game where you launch mice off of piano keys to put together word fragments, a game where you have to use a bank of letters to create the most unique words) to earn halves of clues you would use to find the culprit of a crime from a cast of monsters (E.G. An old time hollywood starlet mummy, a frankensteins monster esq coach ect)
The game is similar to The House franchise by Sinthai Studio, a point and click with lots of jump scares, though I can only (vaguely) remember the first and last level.
The first level begin in a forest where you find a newspaper concerning about a murder victim, not long after that the victim's ghost appeared to scare you.
The last level presents you with two choices; going left or right. Choosing the left will make you ended up apparently crucified in hell, while the right will make return to the first level, now at daylight and the good ending.
