...Have you stopped to ask if this is a good idea first?

If they show up a lot in fiction, then there's use in them having Useful Notes pages.

I'm a little confused as to why we even need pages on these guys to begin with.

I wouldn't be creating the sandboxes for the useful notes pages if they were not given notable and/or a reasonable number of portrayals in fiction.

As it stands, it is taking everything I have in me to write the articles on the Nazi figures as clinically as possible, especially because my grandfather and most of his siblings, z"l, were Holocaust survivors.

As for Frank Nitti, he has appeared in fiction enough times that it is worthwhile having some info on the real guy too.

You just called them "National socialist savages". That doesn't exactly sound "clinical" to me.

I haven't even created the actual useful notes pages yet.

And I meant clinical within the article.

Anyways, I have put construction of these articles on hold, and am awaiting further discussion.

When I first saw this query, my thought was just "...Yes, and?"

I'm not sure what sort of input you're looking for here.

Firstly, in hindsight, I want to assess whether it is worth the risk to create useful notes pages for such notorious figures, if only because of their fictional appearances (AKA, Historical Domain Character status)

Secondly, if it is worth the risk, I want help developing said useful notes pages using the aforementioned sandboxes.

Thirdly, while I cannot say for sure about Nitti, I guarantee that the other two pages will need to be locked if they are ever created.

I will say, initially I set out to write a useful notes page for Nitti alone, but someone in the CM thread suggested I make a useful notes page for Himmler, and I contemplated a Mengele page as well, since Mengele has made a fair number of fictional appearances, but I am not sure how many.

What works of fiction, though? It's the first time I've even heard of these names.

I've heard of Mengele. Himmler sounds vaguely familiar.

Dunno who Nitti is, but:

  • Josef Mengele was the "Angel of Death", a Nazi Psychopath who did horrific experiments on people in concentration camps.
  • Heinrich Himmler was second to Hitler in terms of power, and was the chief of the Gestapo.

Nitti appears as a secondary antagonist in The Untouchables, and a mob boss in Road to Perdition amongst other things. He was Al Capone's second in command turned successor.

Edit: Mengele, the mad doctor of auschwitz, appears as an antagonist in The Boys from Brazil (Film and Novel).
