General examples aren't allowed anywhere.
The examples on Outdated by Canon are split into general and specific, with general taking up half the page. So if those three examples are too general, then the problem is much bigger than just those three.

So remove "General examples" and reword the page to acknowledge that such go under Jossed under the work that does the jossing, Outdated is for the works that are jossed as a result?
I'll make those changes on the 15th per Three-Day Rule unless I hear anything else.

Thing is, I included the general examples because I don't have a specific fanfic where Blaise Zabini from Harry Potter is a girl or italian, which is kind of needed for the trope picture, but it got used for general Jossed examples. My mistake.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.
Most of these "general examples" aren't true general examples per Examples Are Not General, since they're about one specific work's fandom.
This begs the question: Is the trope tied to the source work or the fan work?
Jossed is the source work refuting. Outdated by Canon is the fan work being refuted. That's supposed to be the distinction between the tropes.
"General examples" are all about source works doing the refuting so are misused under outdated.
With this, and how it violates Examples Are Not General, it looks like we have a consensus to remove them. Should we go ahead and do so?
Give it a small amount of time in case someone sees this thread and wants to rewrite some examples to fit.

Can't help with the Star Wars example or the Princess Luna example, but I know two fanfics that had Diamond Tiara's mom dead. How many examples do we need of Diamond Tiara's dead mom?
To avoid being a general example, all entries need to name or link the fic(s) Outdated.

On a similar note, several folders on Fix Fic cite general examples. Are they allowed?
