Well, an Internet Backdraft is generally a knee-jerk and overwhelmingly negative reaction to something. Sometimes, people add this type of reaction to Broken Base instead due to not knowing that it has strict requirements. If it didn't fit BB, but does fit IB, I don't see a problem. This is only problematic if it's also not a valid case of IB.

It's still an edit war as they were the ones who originally added it.

^ But does adding the same thing to a different trope count?

^ I think it does, actually.

I don't think it's an example of Internet Backdraft. Something like Internet Backdraft would be something like the reaction to Federation Force, the Diablo Immortal fiasco, or the Youtube Rewind controversy.

The example comes off more like a debate within a fandom and not a kneejerk backlash reaction which Internet Backdraft is about. And unless I am not looking in the right places, I don't see a considerable debate or backdraft on the quality of the mod.

Even if it was a valid example of Internet Backdraft, I would still tear the troper to shreds for that lone "it's" grammar mistake (seriously, I bump into so many proficient tropers that completely fail to get a hint on that).

But looking back, I don't see how it is an example. The modding community is a minority in the Dark Souls fandom, and the people that supposedly tear each other apart on that particular mod are even more of a minority. And adding the tidbit of Take a Third Option at the end of the entry really irks me and comes off as forcing itself to sound like a genuine example.

[up] Pretty much. The only things I found of note was a brief nitpick of the mod changing the lore on a major forum site and some stuff on the mod's distribution site's forum, which is mainly technical issues and glitches and some critiques of the mod (which is no where near backdraft levels).

Either way, the Internet Backdraft/ Broken Base example isn't kosher in my opinion and is nowhere near the hot Internet firestorm the example claims it is. I'll let the mods have final say on the whole situation.

If what BZL8 says is true, then this is an invalid entry. Would not be the first time bigbossbalrog openly engaged in slight edit warring (because I recall them doing so on one of the other Dark Souls pages).

On that note, shouldn't Internet Backdraft have an additional requirement of being a widespread meltdown in media?
