Restore. Meowth is considered Crossdressing Voices as his first english voice actress was trans.
Definitely restore, but mention should be made that the actor was (at least at the time) biologically female.
It's an interesting case, as to the audience it's not Crossdressing Voices but as far as the actor and production is concerned, it is.
That said, that edit reason is wicked concerning.

edit, never mind
Edited by AkibaPurplecarstuxedo altered the entry with this reason: “No act she puts on can cover her lack of a Y chromosome.”
We need a mod here pronto.
That is... impressively alarming. Modified the entry to be a bit more complete, but regardless, that behavior is pretty unacceptable.

If they modify or delete the trope again, a mod should step in with a warning or something.
A mod should step in right now. They have twice given explicitly bigoted edit reasons, made worse because their target isn't even a fiction trans character, but a real person. They should at least get taken aside by a mod and told this is unacceptable.
Tropers.Okllzoom cut out a large part of the entry without giving an edit reason.
Cross-Dressing Voices gets weird if either the VA or the character is transgender, because the trope description doesn't account for the possibility.
In the specific example that was removed, the VA identified as female during the entirety of their stint in the role, and the character is female.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.^ Identified as female or was a closeted trans man during the entirety of the run? Because there's a huge difference there and it's a bit rude to presume.
Also, a little digging indicates that he's been transgender for years, and publicly came out in June so... actually I'm wondering why this is become an issue now?
^^ Okllzoom's edit actually seems fine. Honestly, it's more accurate than my edit (given what I just figured out from Twitter) and he's the one who added the example in the first place. It's simple, to the point, and correct.
v "That user" being catstuxedo, right? Just confirming since another troper had been mentioned.

Though looking at Okllzoom's history that's unlikely, at least, given they predate catstuxedo's suspension.
Edited by sgamer82I mean again, Okllzoom's trimming was perfectly fine and was the person who justly readded the entry in the first place. It would be a pretty nonsensical falseflag to put the entry in just to delete it with a transphobic edit reason.

Hop on over to this page and add them.In light of all of this, I think something should be added to the Crossdressing Voices page itself to indicate it applies to characters whose voice actors come out as Trans during or after a show's run

Would I be justified in restoring this cut under Hellsing Ultimate Abridged?
The reason given for the removal "She was, is, and always will be a biological female, so this doesn't qualify." seems incredibly transphobic.
