Do we have this one?
A show on a streaming service like Netflix says it's a Crime Drama, but the characters make it feel like it's another genre entirely.
The show has a Captain Ersatz of Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul, an eccentric woman who's similar to the Thirteenth Doctor from Doctor Who, a vigilante girl who's an Expy of Kara Danvers Supergirl and a crime lord who's very similar to Wilson Fisk from Daredevil.
Viewers assume it's either a Sci-Fi or Superhero drama due to the characters mentioned above (excluding Saul), but Word of God is that it's a Crime Drama grounded in reality in a Crapsack World and every episode is crime-focused with no superheroics.
I thought it was Genre Roulette or Follow the Leader (I know Cast of Expies applies to the characters), but what trope fits the audience reactions part about being mistaken for another genre? Is there a Distaff Counterpart trope to Vigilante Man for the female characters?
