Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Agree to remove the redirect. But why isn't Tropers. The Advertisement Server actually at JustForFun.The Advertisement Server? The page is locked, so it seems to be purposefully put there. Can't find a reason on the Administrivia.Locked Pages page.
I had the same query and the result was a statement about how it's not a huge problem and it's a joke page, so leave it, IIRC.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Yeah, i'm really only interested in the redirect at this point. The troper might appreciate being able to use their troper page as well.
That's intriguing. I don't know that they've ever asked to have their troper page un-redirected, but it seems kind of pointless to have it that way.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Ok to bump this? I recently tried to get into Adbot's history page and again had issues because of the redirect. As I can't edit another troper's page, we'll need a mod to make the update.
^ I did not think to do that.
... I'm confused.
Since it's their Tropers/ page, doesn't that mean they're the one who made the page into a redirect? Deleting their Tropers page for being a redirect on their behalf seems really weird, especially since it doesn't seem like anyone has P Med him asking if they wanted it.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.It is possible that someone made Tropers/Adbot before there was an account named "adbot", and the latter has never bothered to edit their tropers page. Since they appear to have recent activity, perhaps someone should reach out to them before jumping to any conclusions.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I just sent a PM to Tropers.Ad Bot.
I would point out that the redirect is disruptive, regardless of whether Ad Bot wanted his page like that or not. Seems like a straightforward rule to say that Troper pages can't be redirects, as it makes accessing the troper's history page more difficult.
Huh - there are plenty more ways to contact tropers.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUh, my bad I guess? I just picked the name since I thought it'd be funny. I had no idea someone had already taken my troper page and made it a redirect.
I have no interest in using my troper page itself, so you guys can delete the page itself if you feel like.
On a related note, I noticed that SugarWiki. The Advertisement Server seems to be a partial duplicate of the Tropers page. Is it necessary to keep both?
Edited by costanton11^That page is an Old Shame of mine, I've made it when I was inexperienced with this site. I agree that we don't need it, so I'll Cut List it.
Edited by Piterpicher Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods Of Incremental)We could move it to Just for Fun, as per an early suggestion.
There's a troper named Ad Bot, but his/her troper page redirects to The Advertisement Server. The Advertisement Server is a joke page, but Ad Bot is an actual person. Should we remove the redirect, so that the troper's page can be more easily accessed?
Here's their history page, as that's about the best I can do: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/el.php?findfor=Adbot
