Thinly veiled racist anti-Obama WM Gs? For God's sake, somebody please make it go away! Disagree with the man all you want but that is just out of line.

I see some additions that look like jokes b the same person. They are also a regular contributor to the Complete Monster cleanup - I'll message them.

Xie323 here.

I apologize about the Dude, Not Funny! WM Gs on the Obama page and I did not know the WMG was breaching the Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgement. I actually thought about it in the morning, had what you would call an "epiphany" and actually went online to delete that WMG entry.

And no, I really didn't mean to hurt or offend anyone and I was not aware of how offensive it actually was until I received a PM from the mods, and actually regretted writing the WM Gs last night before I got it and actually went online today to remove all of the WMG due to it's offensive Flame Bait nature before finding out that the WMG was redlisted. So I'm very, very sorry if I ultimately ended up offending and/or harming anyone with it.

So sorry if I offended or hurt anyone with the WM Gs, I apologize and I'll be more careful with Real Life WM Gs next time. In fact, put some rules about real life WM Gs and the Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgement to not repeat this fiasco from any other troper. You can actually ban me for some time for this if you wish....

Why are there Real Life WMG pages in the first place? That couldn't be begging for more trouble if all of them had a notice saying "VANDALIZE ME".

...why should the admin and mods have to post rules about not to do what you did?

It broke the rule (don't be a dick). I can't stand Obama myself, but what was done was way overboard. A relatively routine piece of advice I've come across several times is don't edit when you're in a mood that could negatively affect your entries.

Tropes are attached to the RL person's depiction in media, not the person themselves.

^I suspect in Obama's case, the WMG page was created because the main page is locked for pretty much the same reasons the WMG page was nuked, only more so. The edit locked request thread had some information come up when discussing edits to the page.

^If true, that's a further argument for why real life WMGs should be prohibited.

No, the reason why Obama had a WMG page was because the entries that were there before xie's edit were actually funny and not very political.
