Might be too specific to have its own trope. Moment Killer and Fan Disservice cover a lot of scenarios.
Thanks. I don't think it's Fan Disservice as it's not "creepy, disgusting," etc. It would be genuine fan service, but it's stopped short.
In the case of the interrupting party, that person could be a Moment Killer I suppose, if one considers fan service to be "romantic or otherwise emotional".
I don't think either neatly fits the entire situation, however.
I do think this is a trope we don't have yet
This sounds like an inversion of Embarrassing but Empowering Outfit, which could definitely be its own trope.
Silver and gold, silver and gold
A clear instance of Fanservice is about to happen, but it gets interrupted before it can play out.
For example, a normally shy, conservative-dressing girl borrows a Stripperiffic dress from her friend known for wearing more revealing clothes. Before she can try it on, however, her other friend realizes how skimpy it's going to be and talks her out of it, denying the audience a chance to see her in it.
Another similar situation I've seen is where a woman is changing clothes in the same room as a guy, either because she's an Innocent Fanservice Girl or the circumstances require haste, then someone else tells the guy to leave (like another woman), denying both him and the audience a chance to see her undress.
I looked through Fanservice and Partial Nudity Tropes but didn't see anything that quite covers this. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, any thoughts?
