Thanks. Some of these fit more specifically into those. I'm wondering if there is room for something else (maybe a missing supertrope situation) for "items that help you grind" that aren't specifically about money or exp.

Anything that makes level grinding strictly faster in terms of +%, doubling, or tripling gains, probably falls under Experience Booster. This includes the Final Fantasy VII example, given that materia have their own "experience points" and "levels". In fact, FF VII is already listed on that page.

I'd far sooner call the The Elder Scrolls example Not the Intended Use unless there's a prefabricated weapon like this in-game.

Fire Emblem is a little tougher given that these are mechanics rather specific to the game, and a matter of player behavior as to how the player wants experience to divide out.

It kind of makes me think of Breath of Fire 3 where there are really pathetic weapons (broken sword, pointed stick), that are nonetheless useful for a training minigame because they do little damage, and for adding to your total unique weapon count (which is useful). I'd file those under Not Completely Useless though, rather than the game saying "Hey, these are wasters so use them like wasters."

Yeah, my hesitation is that Experience Booster only mentions "experience points" specifically. I could see it in spirit applying to skill growths or anything similar, and it seems like the examples there back that up.

With that, probably no missing supertrope needed and I can fit these examples, though I may file it away for a future "expand the description" TLP effort or something.

Thanks for the replies!
