Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Have you sent them any notifier PMs regarding this, or did you only mention the English help thread when replying to their posts?
Edit: As a side note, I changed the awkwardly written sentence on Antagonist Title to "Often overlaps with One-Word Title, especially with antagonists who have Only One Name."
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.^ I only brought up the English help thread when replying to their posts in TLP, but I'll send a notifier.
Looks like Malady is still making grammar mistakes on TLP drafts. I found this edit on the Non-Damaging Status Infliction Attack draft, and the line reads "A type of attack that might be this, is Blinded by the Light, which usually lower accuracy."
Edited by DivineFlame100Is that wrong, though? Couldn't you say that "there is high overlap with..."?
I think the reason their posts are sometimes difficult to parse is less due to grammar (though that is sometimes a factor) and more due to stream-of-consciousness writing and taking notes for their own sake.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.^ Wait, are you saying...
Ah... How insensitive of me. I did not mean to come off like that. I just thought they needed simple grammar help. My deepest apologies.
They do tend to insert commas where they don't make sense, but the example sentence in the OP is mostly fine, grammatically.
It's using overlap as a noun. It's also using the compressed style of writing you see on signs and stuff.note Like if a trope had this in its description:
The only issue I take with it is using "Only One Name" as an adjective.
I'm starting to get concerned about MaLady's grammar. In the comments of the Vampire Lolita Archetype draft, their posts at the bottom have choppily-written grammar that made it very difficult for me to understand the intent of their posts, making the conversation barely incomprehensible. This isn't an isolated incident either because, several days ago on their No Damage Attack draft, their initial description (now edited) contained numerous instances of choppy grammar which made it difficult to read. In both cases, I requested them to visit the English help thread, but they insisted that it's because they work on mobile.
Because of this, I've decided to look into their edit history and I found this edit in Antagonist Title which brings further concern. They added a new line to the description that reads "High overlap with One-Word Title, especially with Only One Name antagonists.", which should be "highly overlaps" or just "overlaps" instead.
Can someone look into their other edits, please? Because their endless sea of wick corrections has made it difficult to find their new additions.
