In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Good luck with that, Have.
You're an ad hominem attack!Yeah, sorry to hear that Tomoe .
But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas. This guitar book doesn't like me.
No.Moonie: Yeah. Don't feel too for me, though—the main thing is I just have no idea what I'm doing next in life, so getting some stuff sorted out should help with that.
Idler: Thanks

Now I have an amusing mental image of an abusive guitar instruction book.

Chapter 1: The Fucking Major Scale

Chapter 2: I swear to god if you don't tune your guitar right I am going to slap the shit out of you.
I feel like working on my Oblivion liveblog, but I don't feel like taking lots of screenshots, since I have to meet up with Baurus AND kill Valen Dreth, it'll be a long chapter.

Hey, AU. How you feelin' today?
Heapers’ HangoutStill sort of sick. It's not bronchitis (as mother initially said), but a run of the mill cold.
summon FAIL, I didn't come in at the mention of Homestuck.
Stupid doomed timeline...Well that's good.
The not-bronchitis thing, I mean. Having a cold still sucks.
^ I was gonna say "who mentioned Homestuck?" but then I remembered I did.

Heapers’ HangoutMy sister is making me learn You Really Got Me, by the Kinks. It's actually a pretty good beginners song.
No.Ooh, I wanna learn that one!
Though I should probably learn a chord or two first. And tune the guitar.
Heapers’ HangoutI had an unexpected attack of relaxation a while ago.
Feels good, man.
You're an ad hominem attack!Color: I NEED TO RELEARN THOSE.
Fluid: Nah, it was confusing me by having the notes and then the tabs underneath. I thought they were for separate lines so got very confused
No.CA:
A lot of the time, guitar tabs allow you to play by numbers, if you want to jump right in. But yes, tuning the guitar is a priority. To some extent it can be done by ear, but the exact techniques would be hard to explain in text.
To go back to the abusive guitar book:
when you flip to the index, it says "for fuck's sake, can't you find it yourself, you blithering moron!?"
You're an ad hominem attack!DAMMIT I CAN'T FIND THE ELECTRONIC TUNEY DEALY
which means i'm going to have to ask my father, and he'll want to "help" me...
Heapers’ HangoutCA:
If you have a microphone, there's also tuning software.
Had my window open for the past few hours and, based on evaluation of the temperature levels in my room, have come to the conclusion that it's actually even bloody warmer out there than in here.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineWait, is he the kinda guy to go into super long rants about things only tangentially related to the subject that don't help at all and then you're left there still with no clue what to do?

I hope so, turning into a bug can be quite traumatizing.
