Hey, you're right. The northeastern Pacific doesn't get typhoons. How about that.

Seriously, is winter better than getting shitstorms twenty typhoons a year?

Boy, unless there is someone around who has endured both typhoons and sub-zero temperatures I don't know who can determine whose weather is "worse".

Do hurricanes count? I've moved to Missouri during the winter (Thanks Dad!) and spend a lot of time in Houston. Not as bad as either but I can say I prefer hurricanes to the cold.

Warming to 35 tomorrow. The good thing about the super cold is that it makes 35 seem balmy.

Even though it's below freezing here, I don't mind the cold weather as much as the hot weather. This may be due to my insulating layer of "adipose tissue" being "robust". I spent a few hours today out in the cold with a coat that doesn't zip anymore. Replaced my alternator and felt fine.

I hate the cold, and I'm fat.

Hey, it's time for Minnesota to enter the running!

I agree that it's ridiculous that so many people have such trouble driving the day after the first snowstorm of the winter. Seriously, how can you forget how to drive in snow?

As for the weather here, not that bad. A couple days ago it hovered around zero, but now we're back in the upper twenties and it's quite nice. For December in Minnesota, that is. :)

20 degrees. Too cold to walk around in, but too warm to brag about.

Today is beautiful, the sun is shining and the temperature is in the 30's. I'm going to take the dog on a longish walk to shake the fidgets out of him. And I can lighten up on what I have been feeding my husband. He walks nine miles a day on his route and needs lots of carbs when its super cold.

Now there's snow. A, friggin pakkaspuuteri, I need real snow. Usually at this tempreature there should be a bunch of suojalumi, but I guess the air is too dry.

@ Jethro: According to Google Language the first is "spring slush" and the second is "protective snow". Is this correct? I would call the first "wet" and the second "powder".
