Let's see if I can start some discussion in here. What do people think of the monthly top 6?

  • EBF 3: I liked it, but not enough to play again on a harder difficulty.
  • Robot Wants...: loved the villain and how the stage was set up (got a little lost first time I played it, though)
  • Crush The Castle 2: Have no idea why it is ranked so high. Found it good, but not that good
  • Shattered Colony: I don't see why people had so much trouble with it. It is hard but far from impossible
  • Gun Bot: Liked the "plot," but once again not sure why it ranked so high. Might not like it so much because it took me a while to notice the "shield" button on the equip page.
  • Pixel Purge: Other than getting the "Shield King" badge, it was fun. Might play it again some day.

My two cents:

  • EBF3: I can see there was a LOT of effort put into this game, enough to convince me that the author was Doing It for the Art. Some fatigue set in after a while, but still a 5/5.
  • Robot Wants Ice Cream: I basically agree with Belian on this. Also a 5/5.
  • Crush The Castle 2: Physics and puzzle elements are nice, but aiming shots are a pain in the butt. Minus points for Bribing Your Way to Victory, but the demerit is small since all projectiles are unlocked through regular gameplay anyways. So Okay, It's Average, 3/5.
  • Shattered Colony: Haven't played it.
  • Gun Bot: I liked the intro "plot" as well, but the actual gameplay wore out way too fast. 3/5.
  • Pixel Purge: I thought it was quite fun. As icing on the cake, unlike tons of other games, there's no stupid "Do <action> <ridiculously large number> times!" achievements. I like achievements when they're a skill-based goal to shoot for, and hate them when they're obviously something that players try to "achieve" just for the rewards. 5/5.

Of those, the only ones I've played are Shattered Colony (fun, but difficult) and Pixel Purge (seems fairly standard, and is a good way to kill some time if you're in a shooter mood).

Anyone else play Caravaneer?

For those of us who don't want to renew our WOW accounts till Cataclysm comes out, this is a fun diversion with a refreshing sense of humor. Also you start naked.

So am I the only person who finds nerdook's games to be okay at best and doesn't get why people are so fixated on them?

Kongregate... Yeah I rememeber you. Freaking good old times. Especially with such gems as Platform racing 2, UMAG, Transformice, Amorphous +, Sonny series... Yeah. And hunting Impossible badges, that too.

But it just got old. I dunno :/

Sup. Level 30 dude here. And I don't get why Nerdook gets so much praise either. Their games are pretty average at best. Maybe it's because they make lots of games where you can upload user-created content or something.

Impossible Badges: 2. President Madagascar Assassin from Pandemic 2 and Band-Aid Fetish from Meat Boy.

Games with badges that require you to spend lots of hours on is too much of a hassle for me. Games that are flash based frustrate me to no end, because I have to lower the quality just to move ok, and that already breaks the game if you were after how it looks. Nerdook's games are nice, especially the "Zombies took my daughter" one.

Note to self: Get back to playing the Mardek Chapters.

I just discovered and beat Upgrade Complete 2. Why is it so addicting to keep playing after winning...?

[up] WTH there is an upgrade complete 2?...

Maybe I should use this as an excuse to go back to kongregate yet again. Yes, I will play it eventually.
