GMH : I have to organize my thoughts into a coherent answer first, so it may take a few days.
On an unrelated note, it looks like Spice And Wolf will be my next commute binge. I just have to finish the latest Discworld novel first.
Ooooh Mapi-chan-chan... I can't say i understand. In my lifetime i have never incurred a loss as monumental as that. I can't say i feel your pain, as such a blow is far too foreign for my mind to comprehend. I can say however that you have my deepest sympathies.
And as for romantic shoujo stories focusing on the interactions of girls between other girls, i'm currently watching Sasameki Koto
This details exactly what I lost.
Speaking of Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex, is 2nd Gig as good as the first season?
I thought it was somewhat better, but apparently YMMV.

In Soviet Nanoha, Fate Tempts You | Spoiler visibility bookmarklet@vandro: Same here. I haven't watched any of it yet. (Not entirely for lack of trying, though.)
Ayato with glasses reminds me of Peter Parker.
I guess it is.I'm in the middle of 2nd Gig right now. I would say the the overall complexity of the plot actually went up, but if you can still manage to follow it at least as well as you did the first season, I would wager it would be just as good in most people's opinions. Also, everytime a Tachikoma shows up, I am having serious Rena-esque impulses. If anyone can get me a Tachikoma for Christmas I will become you're personal slave for a year be very grateful.
I also started Fate Stay Night Saturday afternoon. And am now somehow on episode twelve. This will not be good for the overall GPA.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listYMMV. It really differs, but none of the seasons has a hatedom or anything.
I think the main plot of the first season is superior to that of the second season. In fact, I find the whole Kuze/Individual Eleven/Gouda plot not so good.
From the stand alone episodes, they're pretty much equal, I think. And personally, I love the stand alone episodes more than the complex episodes.

Jhiday: Ooh, Spice And Wolf. That's on my shortlist to watch soon...if I ever get around to finishing Mai-HiME and Angelic Layer, that is.
there is no better place to put this◊.
If you want me, i am still here. ElTheDaze@yahoo.comI was going to say "I beg to differ," but then I loaded the image
In Soviet Nanoha, Fate Tempts You | Spoiler visibility bookmarkletOh, dear. For some reason, I'm slow as molasses reading Unseen Academicals, barely averaging 50 pages a day. I'm enjoying every minute of it, but it looks like Spice And Wolf is a least one or two weeks away at least.
On another note, I'm still watching Dragon Ball Kai. Best way to (re-)discover one of those legendary series I could never keep track the plot of as a youth, this time without most of the pointless filler. The weekly pace also prevents me from baulking at the massive episode count.
I have no idea whether it was already there in the original, but the orchestral music is epic. On the other hand, the recent Grand Theft Me plot with Ginyu was very goofy. (Also : Pegasus is straighter than Freeza.)
Oh, and Aya Hirano's in there, somehow *.

Ahh. Animé/manga: where the women are girly, the men are girly, and the children are all girls. Even the boys.
With some exceptions to the "men are girly" set.

Except in Fist Of The North Star homages/parodies (that's what they are, right?), in which case all the men are very manly men, all the women are very manly men, all the children are very manly men, and even all the scenery can be transformed into very manly men if need be.
I assume you have seen the mot thread.
2nd Gig: I agree with Smokie up there. For example, the use of "standalone complex" in the second season seemed pretty self-aggrandizing at points.
It's still really good, though.

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Anyone keen on recommending some spiffy anime, or manga even? I'm mostly looking for horror or comedy, although I'm no fan of UnwantedHarems and such, a well-written romance story could be tasty too. My previous anime include Death Note, Paranoia Agent, Neon Genesis Evangelion & FLCL. I'm also working my way through Higurashi in manga form, and I remember having some fun with Hellsing, again in manga, back in the day. So, any thoughts?
Liveblog | Deadblog^^Ishikawa, there's something funny with that signal. Can you clean it up a bit?
Seriously someone, I couldn't decipher that one, usually I can manage, but I'm a bit stumped on this one.
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listI hope I didn't mention it in this thread, but I've been reading this manga Tanabata no Kuni which is a horror manga from the creator of Parasyte, although not nearly as violent/squicky as that so far. It reminds me a lot of the Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service in having a somewhat humorous tone.
Hodor@zzzdragon: "GITS:SAC may or may not have finished downloading. I'm cut off from the main comp so I can't check."

I guess it is.
I'm currently downloading Strawberry Panic. And I'm still pissed I lost half of my anime collection.
