Has there ever been an attempt to give Homestuck a more suitable ending? I don't mean continuations of Act 7 like Act Omega (although I remember really liking that), I mean some kind of alternative Act 6/7 that actually pays off all the dangling plot and character threads satisfactorily. Because I'd kill for something like that.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?After years and years of swearing up and down that I would never read Homestuck, I gave in. I can't fight the Homestuck.
I haven't finished it yet but I can already feel my sanity dwindling. This is a cry for help.

Place your bets, folks: is moefoxes a Vriska fan, or a Vriska h8r?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?There have been a few. I think the most successful effort was TLC Stuck (or Double Death of the Author) which branches off at the point where Hussie has Terezi advise John on how to retcon the narrative. The authors (correctly) note that to fully fix Homestuck would require branching at an earlier point in the story, but this moment is the best choice for practicality and applicability.
Link for the MSPFA is on the Tropes page, and it also has a Tumblr. NB: The comic is done, but some animations are left as storyboards, with the authors intending (as of this writing) to eventually return and offer a complete "director's cut."
I like talking to friends about stories over food. From what I've read so far, a vriska kind of liker. She's cool. But my favorites are nepeta and terezi
Forum Signature:A fellow of keen taste, I see.
Update: I don't know whether to like or hate Vriska.
Also, I made a trollsona...who's not actually similar to me in any way except for zodiac sign. Their name is Fenrus and I accidentally gave them way too much trauma.
Forum Signature:^Just for reference, where are you at in the comic right now?
Like halfway there. In the mid 4000s.
Forum Signature:hiveswap act 3 is still a thing apparently. it got revealed in a now private yt stream
Oh? What was actually seen?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.some new characters and backgrounds. sounds like there is a new publisher now
That makes sense given What Pumpkin kinda disolved. But who's publishing it?

Oh.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNota bene: That is not actually Andrew Hussie's Twitter account.
Mostly does better things now. Key word mostly. Writes things, but you'll never find them. Or you can ask.Seems to have a lot of followers if it's a fake account. But then again, the other Hussie account I can find hasn't posted in a year but has the same avatar and header.
It's a Twitter account that was made before the actual Andrew Hussie account stopped posting, and has an @ handle unrelated to Andrew Hussie or Homestuck, but is related to Littlest Pet Shop, which it actually posts about. All the Homestuck tweets were from literally yesterday. And don't read like Andrew Hussie at all.
The account has followers from being some person on Twitter who writes funny stuff and presumably the LPS fandom stuff. They must have changed the account to look like Hussie pretty recently, again as in yesterday, in order to make jokes in that vein, and probably will go back to normal after not too long. Like two tweets before the Homestuck stuff is a celebration of hitting 15,000 followers so that's presumably the occasion for this prank.
This struck me as a very transparent, old hat kind of shenanigan. Has it really cycled out of fashion such that it can surprise people again? Gosh, I feel old.

I have some weird news. Apparently Vriska became a recurring joke on r/comedynecrophilia for a while recently.

You keep using the term "POV". I do not think it means what you think it means.Okay, I've heard of "comedy cemetery" and "comedy necromancy", but what is "comedy necrophilia", and what does Vriska have to do with it? (And whatever it is, why didn't they give it a less gross name?)
It's basically "people take awful memes and try to make them even worse, hoping to Invoke So Unfunny, It's Funny".

@Bleye: That puts it a lot better than I could.
I think there's another issue with it, too, like... It's not even really speaking to any (poorly done) attempt to subvert or criticize the idea of character arcs by demonstration. Because there wasn't any such thing, I don't think?
Rose had a full character arc, made of several smaller arcs, even if the last one got sorta handwaved post-retcon. (Yuck, just remembered the whole... Vriska successfully bullying her out of an addiction thing.) The thing she didn't do was play the rain, or otherwise go back and do the Quest or any of that game stuff. It was rejecting the path that SBURB had laid out for her to do and grow in the process of doing. It was saying those Quests, those were the "arcs" that were being rejected...
But the thing that raised the expectation that Rose should go and do that was Homestuck! The thing that showed that these Quests, kiddie as they are, had deeper meaning and importance was Homestuck! Even though the story tries to gloss over how important Quests were, it didn't forget them, it made John's pivotal to the story and represent a major character moment and expression of his personality, completing the associated literal task as almost an afterthought, important only through chance. This echoes the way Jaspersprite told Rose her Quest did matter and she should do it eventually, even though it doesn't seem important anymore, even if it doesn't seem relevant anymore.
It couldn't even be bothered to commit to the idea that Rose was right all along to reject if not even outright break SBURB, because they... don't. It's just infuriating. It's papering over a hole by attacking itself, and putting it in a dumb pretentious way to sound subversive and 'meta'. And the worst part is, at least for a while, that somehow fucking worked and saw it get defended.
