You don't know the half of it. That half being composed of mighty fanwank.
On a lighter note: this.
Dost Thou Desire the Power ... Glove? It's so bad.Don't you know who the Tank is?
So, after discovering YouTube user kilplix's Left 4 Dead stuff (good intro to his material here), I'm wondering - does this deserve its own page? It's just a guy's videos of he and his friends gaming, but then again we have an entry for Profound Moments In Left 4 Dead 2, so I can't tell where the bar is.

Current earworm: "Awe of the Unknown"Don't forget Criken's videos. Very well-edited and goddamn hilarious.
What the Hell is a Karma Charger, anyway?
Pretty sure it's slang for occasions when you're doing something stupid or dickish and the game throws a Charger at you from cover.
Played the second one at a friends, it was fantastic. I can't wait til it's out for mac, I guess tf2 and Counterstrike will have to tide me over.
Well, Ninja Orca took the initiative to start a page for Kilplix N Friends. So if anyone else wants to add to it... you can?
Current earworm: "Awe of the Unknown"I got a question, and bear with me please for I am new here. I looked the left 4 dead trope page up and down, and I noticed that there is no mention of the enviorment narrative that is used in the game, like for example the room in the hospital that probably was the origin of the outbreak, or in L 4 D 2 the redneck shooting range, where they kept score for both infected and humans they shoot. I was wondering if that just isn't trope material, or if I missed something.
Thanks in advance.
Yes! Just bought the 4 pack on sale for $22.
Ruining everything forever.I didn't know you actually saved money with the four pack. It does give a nice incentive to give to your friends.
That reminds me, I need to buy this game today before the sale runs out.
Hmm, would that be a Jigsaw Puzzle Plot? I don't see it on the trope list, though.
I missed the "redneck shooting range," what's that about?
Current earworm: "Awe of the Unknown"I recently got the games (Two days before they went on sale. Yay.) and i really freaking love them. The only thing i don't like is that most of the special infected don't encourage teamwork, but FORCE it. Oh well.
I like L 4 D 2 a lot more than the first, simply because it has more. More weapons, items, enemies... It's just got more. Also the finale of Dark carnival counts as a Crowning Moment Of Awesome in my book. I mean jesus. From both a "Dude we are playing a rock concert for the finale." setting standpoint and a "Here are your guns. Lots of guns. Lots of medkits too. And lots more zombies." gameplay standpoint. I've replayed that chapter instead of moving on to later campaigns simply because that's so awesome. Wish i brought my grenade launcher.
Oh and i installed the metalized music the trope page mentions. It's more appropriate, i think.
Bleye knows Sabers. No one discussing The Sacrifice?
The campaign has really long maps to say the least.
I wonder if the military is using the special infected as weapons...
^^That. It bugged me a little that there were so many zombies leaving the auditorium until Fridge Logic kicked in.

That's if there's anything left of the military...
Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions. It Just Bugs Me!: People who are speedrunning L 4 D 1 & 2.
Jonah FalconPicked up L 4 D and L 4 D 2 from Steam a few weeks ago when they were on sale on Steam. Can't play the until my School Certificate is completed. Sad face.
Against all tyrants.Don't own either of the games, cause I have no room on my hard drive currently, but love the series. Y'all should check out the Sacrifice comic.
"Weird doors open. People fall into things."A good day on Dead Center:
That video will never get old.
Like the night my girl went away, gone off in a world filled with stuffI just got a friend of mine back into playing this, and even managed to convince him to pick up the second one. We got to talking one day in the lobby about developments in Homestuck when I decided it would be interesting to see how the music from that would sound in the game. Long story short: Homestuck sound mod.
And on that subject, what sound mods do you tropers use, if any at all?

Whatever happened, I'm pretty sure I didn't do it. Hopefully....I'll be blunt and admit that I play the 360 version with none of the DLC campaigns.
Also, it might just be me, but the AI Director HATES me. Almost all the time when there's a Special Infected, it ALWAYS aims for me. I mean, sometimes there are more tempting targets, but it's always me. Might have something to do with the fact that I've survived every last campaign I've been in ever. When I died, for some reason the rest of the team loses (and I usually die when we're at the finale). Hell, one time I was literally the only survivor of the campaign.
I don't get why I'm always public enemy #1 to the zombies. I mean, I'm good, but I'm not THAT good.
Also, here's a funny story: It was a co-op campaign on that third campaign (that swamp one, can't remember the name). The boat arrived, and we were making a mad dash for it. Two allies were down, and there was a Tank in my way. I just ran around it, and it literally punched me straight towards the boat. Despite the fact that it was an AI, I had half a mind to say, "Thanks man!"
Still need More Dakka, and it's about time to start a real WAAAAAGH.I have the exact same thing happen to me in L 4 D 1. Over the course of 4 hours with 3 other people, I was boomed on/pounced/Smoker'd no less than 40 times.
Against all tyrants.
Just bought this along with my friend, and we've been playing through together with the bots since Sunday night. I really like the addition of...everything, but the lightning storm chapters of Hard Rain would have to be my favourite part of the game so far. Brings back memories of getting caught in a freak storm during summer with my friend, wearing nothing but shorts and a t-shirt, making a mad dash from the subway station to my apartment, and all the while he was screaming "We're gonna get struck! We are going to die!"
Good times.
