Well brushing off Doom/Quake and their clones when you ask for a stereotypical Western FPS is rather strange because those are the stereotype of Western FPS games.

Plus, while Renegade's Single-Player campaign is a tad stereotypical of FPS games, the Multiplayer C&C mode is what sets it apart (and creates the CNCFPS sub-genre-thingy).

Yeah, you won't get better answers than Doom and Quake.

Turok, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark. If you don't mind primitive FPS, there's also Bloodshot (aka Battle Frenzy) and Zero Tolerance on Sega Megadrive.

Oh, there's also Alien Trilogy on PS 1 and Saturn that's pretty nice, and I've never played it, but there's also Alien VS Predator, which is considered the best game on Atari Jaguar.

A question especially for rallyfan: Is there any way for a WWII European Theater FPS to NOT be Western or stereotypical?

Singularity? I thought it was pretty good. Also, Painkiller. Painkiller is the shit.

Oh, and the new Medal of Honor is stupidly short. Don't buy it for the single player. I played some of the multiplayer too, and that wasn't anything to get excited about either.

^^ Wii FPS = Waggle for aiming. I tried it in Medal Of Honor Heroes 2 and didn't like it.

Huh. For me, aiming with a Wii remote felt ten times more natural than using dual analog sticks.

If you don't like the point-to-aim system for Goldeneye, though, you can always use the classic controller.
