Enter Turtler (a.k.a. Snaptrap)!
CONTEXT: First prototype shots of Takara Tomy's Generations Selects Turtler (or as USA knows him, Snaptrap).

Damn, I really like the LG version of Kickback. Those colors are just so excellent. For the Insecticons, LG Kickback is a must. LG Bombshell's really well designed, but he was only grey in the cartoon and purple everywhere else, so Hasbro's is fine. Shrapnel is either or. The LG has nice colored in eyes, but a big ass sticker. The original Hasbro one has a Reflector gun, and the rerelease has no Reflector gun and slightly different colors. The original Hasbro one is good.
Tokyo Toy Show is underway, and they revealed the next Masterpiece figure after Optimus 3.0, Blackarachnia, and Hound: LIO CONVOY from Beast Wars II!
Pretty cool. Though Lioconvoy looks weird next to the other BW figure as the design tries to mimmick the flat animation rather than the CGI of the first show.
Still, I'll prolly get him. Probably also means MP Big Convoy is coming some time after Lioconvoy.
I hope they still continue to make the rest of the season 1 BW cast (MP Rattrap and Waspinator wen!), and I still hold out hope for Transmetal 1 Megatron.

A spin-off monthly series got announced: Transformers: Galaxies
Think of it as the Transformers' answer to Archie Comics' Sonic Universe.
Written by Tyler Bleszinski and drawn by Livio Ramondelli. First story's star? The Constructicons!
Random question, how popular is the transformers franchise in general outside the U.S., I know the U.K. got it's own comic in the eighties but is it more of a niche market there and other places?
The films are huge in China, and most of the box-office returns come from there. Transformers: Age of Extinction had a whole reality show dedicated to finding some local Chinese talent to appear in the film.
I think the goodwill has started to falter. Transformers: The Last Knight was a Box Office Bomb primarily because it underperformed in China, and audiences found all the China-pandering too ridiculous to take seriously. I'm not sure how well Bumblebee did over there though.

It's popular worldwide, though it obviously varies from country to country. Probably leans a little higher in English speaking countries and East Asia.
Transformers was popular enough in Japan that they made a bunch of Transformers shows. They made like three follow-ups to the original G1 stuff, ignoring Season 4 and doing their own thing. Beast Wars Season 1 got a Japanese dub, but the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 was so long that they couldn't wait so they made their own sequel, Beast Wars II, and that was followed by Beast wars Neo. Robots in Disguise was made start to finish in Japan, as was the Unicron Trilogy.
The biggest unofficial fan convention, TF Con is in Canada (and has since has branched off in other places).
The UK has its own share of fan conventions like Auto-Assembly.
The Netherlands had a convention for a while.

Brand new Siege figures just got announced!
- Astrotrain: No longer a Headmaster or a Voyager, this Leader Astrotrain should appease the folks who loved it when Astrotrain could turn into a old-timey train!
- Apeface: From robot to robo-gorilla to spaceship and back again! And he can STILL take his head off!
- Spinister: 'Member how Spinister was in a poll that got won by Impactor? Here he is!
- Crosshairs: No green gunslinger with 3D goggles here! This is a straight-up retool of Siege Ironhide with a new head!
I've always wanted a generations Spinister!
My Anime crush is LegosiYou'd think I'd post here more often what with my name and all but I was more of a fan of the comics than anything.
New reboot has me bummed out, to be honest. So far it's been nothing but walking and talking, and while I loved that in MTMTE there's no voice to it in the new series.
Isn't it doing a detective thing?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The first kill was Brainstorm and I am still mad about that.
I read two issues and it's nothing but worldbuilding with no interesting characters, so I ended up dropping. I'm just waiting for things to pick up.
Well death isn't forever so Brainstorm will hopefully come up alive.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."To be fair OG idw also took its time to find its voice so I expect this too will need a while.
I just hope it lasts long enough, though the existence of a spinoff already might mean that something is going right.
So what's with all the Transformers avatars today. Woke up this morning and they were everywhere.
Well, it IS the 35th anniversary of Transformers, though I dont know the exact date the toys hit the shelves.
I changed my profile pic to Tarn, someone in the Final Fantasy thread noticed, & it kinda spiraled out of control from there.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Count me in this "Transformers-pic-changing" too!
I asked slimcoder why he had Tarn the Decepticon redditor as his avatar and it spiraled from there.
I should probably always have a Rodimus avatar tbh.
Below is my drabble compilation fanfic for Transformers: Animated.
