During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

@ACW Ah, and as a final suggestion just now, maybe pothole "the puppet master" for Simeon as manipulative bastard, as that is what he does for Primrose's emotions.

- The Sociopath: He never shows empathy towards anyone or regret over his actions, he manipulates others in cruel ways and pretends to care about them to get what he wants and he doesn't care to destroy the world to do what he thinks will make Lacie happy. The only person he seems to care about is Lacie, but it's eventually revealed that his feelings for her come from deep hatred instead of any sort of love or compassion. The only thing he truly wants is to feel alive and be himself, it just happens that doing something for Lacie is the only way Jack can achieve that.

Yes to Gilmarten, no to Bais and Clancy. Remove the Human Traffickers pothole from the Crow Men and use that as the pothole for Rufus' name, because it's specific to him rather than the Crow Men as a whole. Otherwise, Octopath looks more or less ready to go.
Is it alright if I do effort posts for Forever Home? While it's not a well-known RPG Maker game, it has been out for almost 10 months, which surpasses the two-week waiting period.

Anyways, since Clancy's a bust. Here's another the Darkest Minds candidate as promised. It'll be a short one since while he appeared for a short time, he's still partially responsible for the things that happened:
Who is He/What Has He Done
President Gray is Clancy's father and is basically the reason why the Espers are truly suffering. Basically when IAAN hits for the first time, it also affected his son, Clancy, which resulted of him getting experimented mercilessly and use him as an agenda to build the camps for the children. In there, most of the children are truly mistreated as they are torn away from their families, and are made to do labour work and are tortured with white noise if they fall out of line. Not only that, it was also revealed that he put a procedure that Orange Espers and Red Espers shall be killed which resulted the Ruby being one of the last Orange espers in the world as for now. His last fate is revealed that he was put in cells for his actions by his son.
Heinous Standard
While his screentime is short, I think he met the heinous standard and is essentially one of the worst person in there sans Clancy and the League. He's the one who responsible for the mistreatment for the Espers, turning Clancy into what he is now and is the one who came up with the idea for the Concentration Camps and the extermination of Orange and Red Espers in general so yeah...
Freudian Excuse
This is where it kind of get tricky. You could argue that the President experimented his son so that most of the people who suffered the illness can be cured. However, this wasn't the case as he doesn't give a damn towards his son and knowing that it can't be cured, he just implement the idea of concentration camps that ended up making the Espers hugely mistreated than before and use his son as a frigging propaganda tool. So yeah... I don't think his actions is mitigating at its finest.
