This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

- We have a policy on trope examples for unreleased works: Creating a Work Page for an Upcoming Work. This policy states that all examples not derived from the final, released work must mention their sources. We also have a forum topic dedicated to maintaining this policy.
- As a broader policy, speculative trope examples are not permitted in any context on the wiki. An example either is valid or is not; you may not guess or assume its presence.
- Regardless of the above, you were engaged in an Edit War, which is not "accidental". You intentionally made the edits and you disregarded the proper process for handling disputes over edits, whether you were aware of the policy or not. The edits that removed your examples cited our policies and pointed at discussion topics for the respective issues, so you cannot claim that explanatory reasons were not left.
Given that you have been a member of this wiki for over six years and have made over seventeen thousand edits, you need to come up with something a little better than "I did it by accident" to convince us.

The tropes I added to the page were based off what was seen in the trailer. I thought the policy was once a work had a trailer and a release date, tropes could be added to a page on the basis.

Regardless of the trailer or release date, examples must still cite the source and may not be guessed at or assumed on the basis of pre-release material without being directly present in said material.

I'm kind of failing to see where the problem with the edit was. Isn't a change to a different but related subject worth the indentation? Particularly when the second subject branches off from the previous one?

~SAMAS: Okay, I found the example you wrote in question. I'd like you to review Example Indentation in Trope Lists and rewrite this example. Also, use the right form of its/it's:
- Turns Red: When Brachydios enters Rage Mode, the slime on it's body turns Yellow, and skips straight to exploding when it hits the ground.
- Taken more literally with the Evangelion Brachydios. The Green parts of it's body turn red, a halo appears over it's back, and its(previously missing) tail mace suddenly grows back glowing red. In addition to the usual Rage Mode blasting, it also gains an A.T. Field.

So I have my editing capabilities removed for an unknown reason. I was adding some new information on a page, when all of a sudden, I lost my ability to edit. How do I get this suspension revoked, if I can?

Ok. This is my first contribution to this page. I was trying to fix some grammar on the site's YMMV page for Looney Tunes Cartoons (A sentence was missing a period). But when I clicked the edit link, I got a message claiming I was suspended from using it. The only contribution I made to the page before that was removing a trope I believed was jumping to conclusions regarding what to expect from the show despite the fact that only one short has been released thus far. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks.

Hi! I went to add a Trope for All the President's Men and I noticed that I was suspended from editing. First, if it was something I did that broke the rules of TV Tropes, I'm really sorry! But also...what was I suspended for? I'd like to know so that I don't do it again. Thanks!
Did I get suspended this time for putting up topics that came off as complaining on the forums? That's not the tone I intended. I was only seeking opinions from others and whether they agreed or disagreed I wasn't looking to cause trouble. I only wanted to open dialogues to those who would be interested. If it wasn't proper, I can certainly avoid stuff like that in the future.

I got edit suspended because I provided a "non-context example" to the Hobo Bros page about Kevin essentially fanboying over Isabelle from Animal Crossing whenever she shows up, my problem is that I've used the wrong trope to describe it, and I don't really know which trope would be more fitting, if there's even one, the closest I have is Author Appeal.
