Illustrates that Death Metal doesn't have to be always blindingly fast to be intense admirably and switches gears on the tempo smoothly, but overuses the main theme a bit, not exploring it far enough, 4/5.
Grave Pleasures - Haunted Afterlife
Spiral out, keep going.4.9/5: while it's not my typical taste and I can't say if it's a good example of its genre, it sounds good and it's nice and intense. It's pretty cool-sounding, and I like the vocals.
Okay, this is weird, but: Mean Girls: The Musical- Sexy
10/10. This song is funny and very competent in it's own right. The shift from the usual sing-song musical to some sort of funky pop song about how hard it is to be sexy. And that's why they want it to be Halloween everyday.
Dicks Can't Swim: I. Cock Jam / II. Razor Blade Dance by Dicks
Ah, the song you couldn't escape from if you lived in France in the late 90's. Though I actually never took the time to listen to it properly. It does have a nice sensual vibe served by a strong and communicative vocal performance, though lyrically it's a bit too sappy for my tastes.
Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai - Futon no Naka kara Detakunai
Dedicated to everyone ever. Better if you watch the clip with the lyrics.

An upbeat indie rock cheesefest about the importance of indoor heating innovations in seismically active environments. Also about the irresistible allure of our sleeping places. Loved every second of it, 5/5.
Spiral out, keep going.Pretty slick, sounds like something I would listen to at times. 5/5
"Wiz and Boomstick (Death Battle Main Theme)" by Brandon Yates —> https://youtu.be/I7w-_F_VgMY
Currently too lazy to switch pics... Although, it's cute, shut up7/10. Pretty cool song. It has a really cool riff although I think it's a little too long.

80's funk doesn't really grasp me the same way stuff from the 70's and 90's does. I blame production and overindulgence in synthesizers. But while this song won't stick in my head for long, it's still pleasant. (6/10)
Nonsense is better than no sense at all.7/10. Cool song with a pretty nice rapper. My problem is that the beat could've been better. It's too noisy and annoying for me.

10/10: Gets every girl in drama club emotional, inevitably. Me, too.
A simple-yet-effective, relaxing tune, 4/5.
Evocative and eerie, the synths adding the necessary texture to the Lonely Piano Piece, 5/5.

Spiral out, keep going.54/100 - Like a country or folk ballad but given the sonorous production job of an "atmospheric" black metal band or a remastered reverb-heavy doom metal demo. Cool aesthetic but one you look past that, kind of stock.
5/10. It had a cool riff, but the track felt like it didn't go anywhere. It was honestly kind of boring. Also, the vocalist really wasn't all that great. I honestly couldn't take him seriously.

7/10. Cute, jazzy little song by Lupe. Always felt like it should of been on Food & Liquor.
Quickie by Miguel
Smooth, reggae-influenced rap, 4/5.
Nujabes ft. Notorious B.I.G. - Life(sic)
Spiral out, keep going.8/10. Lovely mash-up. I would have never considered Biggie's most darkest verses would work with Nujabes's mellower beats and textures
Because of Pete Shelley's death I feel inclined to put this song up.
Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) by The Buzzcocks
7.4/10 Good rock song, even if the chorus became a bit repetitive over time.
On a completely different note, here's a Tom Jones cover of Cohen's Tower of Song
Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.A song that, having subdued instrumentals, puts tremendous demand on the vocalist's ability to properly deliver the underlying emotions, and Tom Jones is more than up for it, 4/5.

Spiral out, keep going.7/10 Both parts are good, though it's a bit too long for my preferences, with riffs that sort of stay the same, and lyrics come off as a bit pretentious to me.

Michael Jackson - Beat It
10/10. Song's a classic. What more can I say?
6.5/10. Generally, I prefer Hendrix's shorter, sharper songs, compared to long tunes like these, since some of the parts are a presage of a few of the worst aspects of prog-rock (aimless sounds here and there and some self-indulgence/jamming for the sake of jamming, drumming all over the place that feels too technically elaborate at the expense of groove and/or endurance). I wonder if this song would've gained from some trimming and/or focused production. On the other hand, some of those aimless sounds and bits of his guitar work here (particularly in the middle of this tune) are a strange premonition of German groups like Popol Vuh (who, needless to say, I quite like), and the more ambient inclinations of those interesting 70's West German/'Krautrock' groups. Although I may have listened to Electric Ladyland a lot when I was younger, I can't quite make up my mind these days about these sort of tunes.
Animal Rhapsody by the often-underrated post-punk ladies that were The Raincoats. Another band that, like the Slits, needs more love (they're fairly different from the Slits, musically speaking, even if they shared the post-punk ethos of the day and one of their members was in both groups, mind you).
This tune comes from their third album, which I reviewed here, alongside their first two.

Quirky, funky pieces like that are not something that come to mind when I think about post-punk. Anyway, the all-female layered vocals on this get a bit too saccharine, but give the song the necessary momentum and catchiness, 4/5.
Cheryl Ann Fulton - Romanesca (Braid OST)
Spiral out, keep going.
32/100 - Six minutes is a lot of time for a song that feels comprised primarily of build-up that leads to unsatisfying and somewhat unresolved pay-off. The keyboard riff the song rests on is to blame for this; the actual chorus it helps to support is halfway decent but even then it never really feels like it fully escapes that sense of unresolved excitement that's constantly building. Basically it feels like a giant interlude for something that never happens.
Obliteration - Tumulus of Ancient Bones
