I've played a bit of it, and you're right. The word "novel" certainly applies here.
Embarrassing question, but how exactly do I save the game?
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. If I remember correctly, hitting the Escape key pulls up a menu.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Well, I decided to give it a rest for today. So far, it's pretty interesting. I got to the part where Hanako runs out of the library and called it quits. I'm not sure what's with her, but it's kind of intriguing.
I'm not sure at this point which girl I like, or if I really like any of them. Shizune is sort of interesting, I guess. Actually, the character I like most is the narrator. He's half the reason I'm enjoying this so far, and he has some pretty hilarious narration at times. I cracked up at "Take two pills a day to stay alive" or whatever it was.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. Now I'm wondering what playing this game stoned would be like.
You'd fall asleep. :-)
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.^If you were smoking pot, probably. Other drugs? I dunno.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I AM THE PRETTIEST GIRL IN THEW HEOSOLE WORL
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@Faw: Desertopa beat me to it. Yeah, I figured "hey, I have a heart condition, obvious Bad End here", but then I thought nah, that was too obvious. Then I decided that either way, if we're going by what I'd realistically do, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be up early to go running a few months after finding out I have a potentially-fatal heart condition, by means of actually having a heart attack.
So I didn't race Emi the first time.
the dice are loaded, the deck is stacked, the game itself will hold you backJust started playing. Man, I've only met my class rep(s) and it almost gave me a heart attack. MOEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Now I understand the God of The World God Only Knows. 2-D Girls may not be perfect personnality-wise, and may be lacking in the reality department, but it's really hard to find real girls that endearing! (P.S. I do know three such girls...).
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?Looks like this game caught the attention of one of my favorite gaming journalists, Leigh Alexander, and an article ended up on Kotaku, one of the foremost video game news websites.
MAL Profile | Underwhelming blogLol at the picture of Rei they used in the article
But seriously, this article examines Katawa Shoujo and its implications about Internet culture and 4chan in a surprisingly in-depth and enlightening manner.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I didn't know that Nurse-kun thing, for instance.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Yeah, it was pretty surprising how...I daresay touching that whole history lesson was.
It was also nice to see an incredible independent project like this game get some much-deserved exposure.

MAL Profile | Underwhelming blogNote on the "Internet hate machine" thing — it's not individual 4chan users who are said to be "Internet hate machines," it's Anonymous as a collective. And as I understand it, Anonymous is basically defined as the entity that says or does all things that are said or done anonymously — a sort of pseudo-entity, given organization and direction by the Internet and sites like 4chan.
^Very true - reminds me of some quote that goes something like "A person is wonderful and sensitive; people are assholes."
Very heavy paraphrasing.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.^Oh.
...Damn, you're right.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.oh i laughed so hard
Seriously, though - how are they going to make this work?
I mean, it's funny, but if you think about it, it's a serious hurdle.
Or maybe they did know this and this is going to be a serious hurdle in-universe?
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Well, people in real life who have heart conditions must have ways around it. They could incorporate that into the story.
Tell ya one thing - it's a hell of a lot more of a problem than the one in Chobits.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I was wondering that too. In fact, when I heard that the main character had dangerous heart arhythmia, I couldn't help thinking that was possibly the worst disability to give the protagonist of an eroge. Still, they've had a whole team working on this for, what, more than a year, right? There's no way they haven't thought of it already.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Well, I appreciated that article a lot. It confirmed and further deepened my understanding of 4chan, and I was pleased to hear that the author was actually a woman. Always good to hear if a woman can in a way accept the perverseness of guys like me.
It's very laid-back. The 'novel' part is dominant - as mentioned earlier, you could easily do it as a choose-your-own-adventure book.
