- No Navel Means Unnatural Creation? Sounds a bit wordy.
To shorten to the max: Navelless Unnatural, or Unnaturally Navelless?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I suggested it be changed to No Navel Means Novel Creation.
Some new ones I thought of-
Umbilical Eclipsing
No Navel for a Nanofabricated Nobody
B'navel B'rith

Silver and gold, silver and goldRename regardless of the new name chosen
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThis is gonna be a big crowner, so I'd suggest excluding from the list/skipping over the suggestions that don't emphasize the "Artificial creation" part of the trope to cut it down a bit.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI was wondering, is anyone suggesting new names in favor of expanding the definition (from the opening post: "Proposal: Expand trope to be defined as a human character lacking a belly button as a visual cue that they had an unusual birth, including artificial creation and non-mammalian birth. Clean up all other examples.") in addition to renaming? I wouldn't mind doing that; I'll probably run a crowner for whether to do that and whether to rename instead of going solely by posts since I feel expansion should get its own chance to be voted on, and I think voting on renaming via a crowner would be a good idea in the event that anyone would prefer expanding without renaming.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. The flexibility of the trope is implied with the "isn't even placental in the first place" thing, right? Though it does read like an afterthought. Can't hurt to make the description explicitly say that humans born under unusual circumstances that make them lack bellybuttons count for the trope.
The crowner can address that.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Giving expand and rename for the record.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupGonna throw Weird Birth No Navel onto the pile as well, at least for the expanded version, which I'm neutral on.
In favour of expanding to include humans hatched from eggs and other odd births.
As a fan of Ultraman Ace, I wonder if Bellybutton Stealer is common enough to be a trope...

That would be a matter for the Trope Idea Sounding Board on Trope Talk, not this thread.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I like Weird Birth No Navel because of its brevity.
Weird Birth, No Navel for me. Clear, Concise, and Witty.
ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔Agreed. I'm going with this one.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectHow about No Birth No Navel?

I hooked a crowner.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. How about renaming it to Clones Don't Have Belly Buttons or Clones Lack Belly Buttons?

Guy in the back alleys. The trope isn't exclusive to clones though.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupNo Navel, Novel Nativity for alliteration?
Crown Description:
It was decided to expand Belly Buttonless to be defined as a human character lacking a belly button as a visual cue that they had an unusual birth, including artificial creation and non-mammalian birth, and cleaning up all other examples, and it was decided to rename the trope as well. What should the trope's new name be?
I agree with renaming because I feel this is tropeable. The suggestion I'm going with at the moment is(x3).
