I do understand why you don't feel that those are ready to be launched but I am wondering what could be done to make you guys feel that they are ready?

Is there any changes that can be made to Magnificent Bastard Administrivia before we can go ahead and swap it in? I mainly ask because that page is the one that instructs new people on how to cut candidates, and since that’s the main purpose of the new thread I think it’s important information - plus, the OP mentions that the post includes the criteria for the trope, but that’s on the page, not the OP, so the text doesn’t line up

Say I have a question, regarding the lists of candidates that are already approved and are waiting to get write-ups. Can they get their write-ups on the cleanup threads since they have been already approved or do they have to wait until the EP approval threads are unlocked?

I can't really say what's needed for approval threads to be open right now as I am not sure myself (beyond what was already said on this thread) but we'll get back to everyone about the approval threads when we are ready.

Since the proposed write ups have already been approved, I'd say it's fine to bring them up to the clean up thread.

That is great. Also if it is not too much to ask can the sandbox for MB and CM get unlocked so troopers to post their write-ups on them, since they still seem to be locked

Great work to all on the discussions and work done to get fresh start on these tropes, and thanks to the mods for the vote of confidence in creating the new cleanup threads! See y'all over there, and let's keep up the good work to hopefully get the candidate approval threads up next!

Also, one thing that just hit me - since we aren’t using designated curators anymore, I was wondering how we’d keep track of the sandboxes to swap, and it hit me - back in the day, the MB Drafts page used to have a list of the pages that needed swapped in. Would it make sense to do that in both drafts pages? That way, when the day comes to do the swaps, we know which ones to do. All that means is that if someone makes an edit to a Sandbox, they just have to add it to the list, but I think that’ll make it easier for everyone involved. Does that make sense/should we do that?

Even though they're still locked and the cleanup threads have opened, could I ask that you unhide the old cleanup/approval threads? They're a useful resource for previous discussions and I'd like newbies to maybe follow along.

I don't know where the sandboxes are. I am willing to unlock them but you guys don't need to be able to edit the page to get access to the write ups. You can use the page source for that.

As for , they aren't hidden. I unpinned them (which sent them to the morgue because projects threads get automorgued when locked unless they are pinned) form the LTP thread because I don't think they need to be pinned anymore. Would linking both threads to the OP be acceptable?

He was talking about adding the new write ups we have due on pending, so he was asking if you can unlock Complete Monster Drafts and Magnificent Bastard Drafts so that we can add the pending entries in.

For the purposes he’s talking about (helping new people access old discussions easier), that should be fine. Thank you!

I really don't mean to be a bother and repeat stuff so soon, but it seems to have been missed, so just to be safe - does this idea for the Drafts pages sound like a good one for keeping track of sandboxes that need moving?

That sounds fine to me.

Your idea's great, Star. 43 and ACW were always pretty great at handling that, but this seems much more efficient for the rest of us keeping track of stuff.

Also, um... sorry I didn't contribute to most of this discussion. All the times I felt like saying something early on, someone else already said it and I didn't feel like dogpiling without actually adding anything to the conversation, and then I got distracted with other stuff, so... bleh.

Anyway, looking forward to getting back to this instead of studying! I'm sure that's a smart decision that will have no negative repercussions!

Idk how to ping the mods but would it worth having the new threads linked on the main pages for CM & MB?

I'm asking this partially admittedly selfishly, but also for convenience sake: DO we wanna get rid of the designated curators? If nothing else, it makes stuff easy to keep track of.

Thought we agreed to it. Or at least its no longer on one person but would be shared among the group.

Basically, it's both - someone can theoretically still curate (I know I'm personally probably gonna do the same thing I did before where I drop the entries in the Drafts for someone else to deal with it, but that's because I'm personally not great at it and don't really enjoy it, so I'll leave it to someone who is and does), it's just not "mandated" anymore.

BTW, where should I go if I have an idea for a change to make to the thread OPs? We realized that the link to the Drafts pages aren't on them and I have a proposed method for adding it. Should I just post it here and holler for the change, or should I post it in the threads?

You can holler the changes. You don't have to make a new post for it. You can just holler the OP itself and tell what you would like to fix.

Forgotten we'll have two threads for each trope now. Happy to be back on a cleanup one for each though right now. What else we need to cover before the ones for new candidates opens up?

That is what I am thinking as well. Like we all want the approval thread to be open but it will be hard for us to do so if we don't know what exactly is needed. I do hope the mods get back to us with that at least soon-ish.
