I love how Peter, Strange, and Octavious are British actors pretending to be Amdrican.
Mileena MadnessThough Otto slips a bit in Spider-Man 2.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Cumberbatch and Holland have also slipped in their accents on occasion. Like when Spider-Man says "big fan" in ''Civil War, or when Strange Supreme says he "read about [Uatu]".
Trust no one.Cumberbatch's a great actor but his American accent is terrible. It's the one thing that's keeping him from winning an Oscar this year.
Wait he was doing an accent?
"Yup. That tasted purple."He's not American, so yes.

...for Morbius, probably.
He must be doing a very good accent, then.
Edit: Not "accident", like that accident of a word. Let's see how many people I trip up while they were typing.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I'm not American, but I think Cumberbatch's accent is, like, passable in a fast-paced action film, but doesn't hold up if you slow down and listen to it. SCOOBEE DOO THIS CRWAP
Also, a comment unrelated to the Spideymen: I think the nighttime lighting in those trailer construction scenes is...horrible. Like it looks so muddy and brown, and Zendaya just kind of blends in the background while she's falling. I hope that's something they'll fix; I thought the same of the Eternals trailer and it did actually look brighter in the theater, but who knows how that holds up on a home screen.

Apparently most international versions of the trailer did not keep the Scooby-Doo reference. Makes sense, it’s a pretty unusual phrase. I have never heard “Scooby-Doo” used as a verb before or what that’s even supposed to mean. “Take care of the villains” I guess?
In the context, I think it also refers to the fact that Strange is talking to a group of mostly normal teens asking them to handle a job that's really not in their wheelhouse.
Just like the Scooby-Gang was often investigating crimes that really should have just been handled by insurance investigators and the like.
Peter proceeds to lose his glasses, MJ eats a ton of cookies, and Ned teams up with the Harlem Globetrotters.
I think its more a reference to them catching and unmasking bad guys. Though it is still an odd reference, there really isn't a mystery to solve.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyIf I had to guess, in dialogue, Strange has just summarized the situation and someone of the main trio (maybe Ned) quipped that it's "just like scooby-doo" in some way. Strange then goes Sure, Let's Go with That and says "scooby-doo this crap, then".
"All you Fascists bound to lose."What is with the WB references? Batman, Superman, and now Scooby Doo?
Mileena MadnessThose are pretty common parts of pop-culture?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. But in universe? Are those characters just comic books?
Mileena MadnessIn some comics, they are. Why wouldn't they be? The chances of a MCU/DCU crossover aren't very high.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Typically in modern fantasy settings, works of fiction that aren't part of the universe being adapted exist as works of fiction in-universe.
The Static Shock cartoon once hilariously ran headfirst into Early-Installment Weirdness, as the first season featured the characters making reference to Batman comics and Bruce Wayne, only for the series to be incorporated into the DC Animated Universe in later seasons and for the title character to eventually meet Batman.
Marvel 616, meanwhile, somehow publishes Marvel comics in-universe. This is only ever referenced with tongue placed firmly in cheek, such as She-Hulk's law firm using the Marvel comics back catalogue as their main source of research for super-based legal cases.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The Arrowverse is full of direct Marvel references.

My guess on the Scooby-Doo reference is it’s either the whole “all the heroes are teenagers” thing or (a bigger stretch) it’s a reference to specifically The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. There's also the fact that Ock just called the villains "ghosts". Bunch of teenagers chasing ghosts is pretty Scooby-Doo.
I missed the part where that's my problem.
X3: Amusingly, according to the same interview, Holland's dream role is being James Bond at some point.
