Does Not Illustrate: Fan Created Offspring

Well, that was quick. I have no idea who this character is or what canon characters are his fanon parents.

I know that one of the parents is a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure from the clothes, but this one's JAFANC overall.

The quality of the image makes it look like a manga scan, which further muddles things.

Possible replacements? 1, 2, 3 (first image), though this might be one of those "lampshade required" tropes.

Those are all better than the current.

Dang, I look away from this trope for two hours...

Maybe pair a picture of a canon character + an obvious fanart with them and their kid? But pull as JAFAAC regardless.

JAFAAC, pull. Even if I wanted context, the pic isn't even potholed to a work page.

I like the Steven Universe suggestions, 2 the most, 3 the least (as for those who don't watch the show, it's not clear Stevonnie is two people in a Fusion Dance). But I think it's a good idea to pair it with a canon screenshot of Steven and Connie.

Thankfully there's a canon picture of them kissing◊. Also this◊ if you need to see their faces but still make clear they're in a relationship.

I prefer the second one (exactly because their faces are visible), but the first one is okay too.

The suggestions are fine, but I'd prefer something that makes it more clear that it's an original character not just fanart of a show with canon kids. Whether the art style be distinctly different, or we use an introductory sheet of the OC alongside an image of their canon parents...something like that.

It looks similar (though not identical) to the canon style, IMO, but my main concern is that it's difficult to tell if the kids are fanon characters. Though a caption could mitigate that.

Isn't the above Steven Universe fan art distinctly different from the show's official art in your opinion?

I think what she meant was that there's no evidence the kids aren't canon.

I wonder if an image of a blatantly non-canon pairing and their kids would get it across?

Maybe simply Jotaro and Kakyoin to the current image to illustrate the fan-created aspect of it or something. Maybe as a math equation of some sort.

I have the same problem with it. It's not obvious that the kid is not canon.

Hmm, maybe it'd be better to do something like Sailor Earth, where we put a picture of a canon character and an obvious-fanart-of-their-offspring.

I'm not opposed to any of those with permission. I think Sonic is better known than Steven Universe so more people would recognize that he doesn't have a child in canon (as far as I know).

I like the first of those the most. And while I'm familiar with Steven Universe, has a point that Sonic is more famous and also less likely to be a father.

Plus, the Sonic fandom has some infamy for their OCs.

Pull current, at least.
