Opening this. I am in favour of delisting it from YMMV; "Propaganda" is basically a genre term, despite its use as a pejorative label, and thus not YMMV.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIndeed, remove it from YMMV.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI’m guessing the rationale for YMMV-fication is that what actually counts as propaganda is debatable. But the description pretty solidly frames it through the lens of authorial intent.
That said, though, would it be trivia?

Remove from YMMV, but don't add to Trivia, since it's about the genre and presentation and not behind-the-scenes stuff.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Yeah, if anything it's more like a genre than Trivia or YMMV.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAffirmed. I've been considering Propaganda Piece for some pages for a while now, and it feels off in YMMV
Add a title. Stay safe; stay well. Live beyond… memento vivere! Should intermittent vengeance arm again his red right hand to plague us?I'll go put in a single prop to see if we have concensus.
As for Trivia, it's likely not going to fit, so to that.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIn it's attempt to cover the concept of Propaganda in an even-handed manner, the trope description has lost a bit of clarity for me. Is this trope supposed to be:
- The broader historical definition that basically means "Persuasive Opinion Piece/Campaign"
- The more modern, restricted definition that means that a government or organization is trying to manipulate public opinion, with an implied willingness to ignore or fudge facts that don't line up with their narrative
- A more derogatory sense, for pieces that are (claimed to) have crossed the line into large-scale misrepresentation or outright falsehood.
I think 2 (so I voted up on the single prop), but assumption of 3 might be the reason it was placed under YMMV.
It's been almost a week, and the crowned is currently at an 11:1 ratio in favor of removing Propaganda Piece from YMMV. Fairly certain that it's ready to call.
Y'ALL JUST GOT SHREKTCalling crowner in favour of removing this from YMMV. That means that some examples need to be moved back.

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
In this ATT, it was discovered that Propaganda Piece was unilaterally added to YMMV.Home Page in 2015 with no discussion or explanation. The trope's YMMV status is questionable since Propaganda Pieces are explicitly created with the intent to promote a certain viewpoint. Since then, the trope has remained on 70 work pages and been added to 31 YMMV subpages, so the majority of the wiki has not adapted to the unilateral change and no cleanup was attempted.
Considering what happened to One Mario Limit, I wonder if we should lock YMMV.Home Page to prevent this.
I'm back!
