Misused: Hilarity Ensues

Was Hilarity Ensues mostly used as a trope or was just used like Played for Laughs (as a meta trope)? If it’s the latter I think it can be left alone and if it’s the former, we can delete but IDK

Sometimes Hilarity Ensues is just tacked on, with no rhyme or reason.

Like so: "Event X. Hilarity Ensues."

We could keep some wicks, but let's pull ZCE and crufty wicks.

Well, it's not a trope... They do seem to be channeling the air/attitude of MythBusters, etc. so "Homage of <genre tag>.... Hilarity Ensues."

I see a lot of Hilarity Ensues are used as shorthand when the editor deemed more detail unnecessary/irrelevant, like It Makes Sense in Context,

If we have to clean wicks, I'd rather set up a project thread so we can pace ourselves a bit and clear out more TRS backlog.

Yeah I rather move this to a projects thread. Cleaning 10k wicks will take months (if not over a year) and threads that need a lot of manpower sometimes end up morgued due to inactivity.

I'd like to see an active cleanup thread before morguing this. Otherwise we'll see people trying to bury unfinished TRS work by making threads in the projects fora.
