Okay... Here's this complaining Wall of Text and Walkthrough Mode:
- Adam Smith Hates Your Guts: You better hope and pray you make a ton of Neopoints in case your pet ever comes down with a disease (which can happen due to a random event); the cures, depending on the disease, range from 1,000 to over 300,000 NP. Blame the undercutters taking advantage of the random diseases given via Qasalan Expellibox (a game where you can earn Neocash without paying money, hence its popularity) for this. Same thing goes for taking advantage of the demand for items needed for avatars. That can be trimmed.
- Alternatively, you could just go to the Healing Springs every half hour until your pet's healed for free. This can take quite some time, though… cut.
- There's also overriding that sickness with another sickness that has a cheaper medicine, usually by feeding your pet some Poisonous Jelly. cut.
- Has been eased a bit with the release of Key Quest, a game which awards high-demand items like Neggs and Codestones as prizes. cut.
- And you can sometimes win Codestones too in the Battledome Beta. cut.
- It was taken to the extreme when the Coincidence Daily occurred, with many junk items that would normally be worth 1 NP on the shop wizard suddenly jumped to more than 10K, simply due to hyper-inflators. The annual-ish Charity Corner events also enforce this in the same way. Maybe keep and rewrite. I'm surprised there was no Up To Eleven sinkhole.

And I'm in the wrong generation to have Neopets as the dominant children's MMO (It was all Webkinz, Club Penguin, and Animal Jam for us, baby!) so if you could give me help?

Rock'n'roll never dies!Yeah, I grew up on Neopets, it was my childhood thing.
That whole chunk is super nattery and stuff, but is still accurate. We just need to remove all of the non-important information, and make it be about how the in-game marketplace aspect can lead players to jacking up prices for items that other players need to acquire, whether it's important cures or things that would otherwise just be junk.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI may not be the best at trimming natter, but having spent time on the site until some time after the acquisition by JumpStart, I hope I can help fact checking.
SoundCloudAnd why is Neopets in the Website namespace while all the others I mentioned are in the Video Game namespace?
Rock'n'roll never dies!Unlike the others, the “skeleton” of Neopets is html/php, so it’s much closer to what people think of when they hear “website.” Though I don’t know if the categorization fits the actual policy for the namespace.
SoundCloudI added a ZCE note on the page and commented out A-G of the General tropes section. I would flesh them out but it's been over a decade since I last seriously played neopets (might get back to it but eh).

Macron's notesWith them hidden out, I can more easily go in and clean up the ones I know.
What I'm really concerned with is the plots section. It's a mess. Despite individual plots having their own folders, many of those also have examples in the general section.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI will try to do some of the plot section after I sort out the general tropes.
So I found a trope that I am not really share implies.
- Informed Species: Aishas are supposed to be stylized cats, but only their heads and ears bear any resemblance to a cat's. Anthropomorphic Aishas are even less catlike.
I dunno, Aishas are clearly clearly cat based to me even with the non feline elements. Besides they aren't actual cats anyways, just cat inspired fantasy creatures so I don't think the trope applies?
Macron's notesYeah, they're not actually meant to be cats, they're just Neopia's equivalent to cats (if you ignore all the petpets, like Meowclops).
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThat's because previously, everything was lumped together in one folder, titled "Plot/Event Tropes". I split most of it off into individual plot folders and retitled the original folder to "General". In reality it's a mix of "general" and "not sure how to sort this".
I wonder if the plots might be better served in Recap/?
Maybe?
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessTime to use a little necromancy.
Crosswicking an example to the page today reminded me of this project. I'm starting to like the idea of splitting the plots into recap pages.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessTaking a look at the page, I can definitely support moving the plots to Recap pages. We should start a sandbox(es) to pick out which tropes only apply to plots and draft summaries, in addition to the usual cleanup process sandboxes are used for. Maybe even add a commented-out note to the main page to put plot-specific tropes on their specific pages once we get further along.
I also found a potential replacement page image that's just the logo◊. Think I should take it to IP?
I don't actually have any Bumblebee icons, I just think the nickname is funny.
The pages for Neopets is a mess of ZCEs, improper formatting, poor/outdated images, and more. I want to clean it up, but the size of the mess means it'd be really hard to do alone, so here's a project thread for those who want to lend a hand.
