Apologies for the short wait, ~Primis. I did check HVSR's laconic, and can verify that there's a dupe case. Opened.
I support a merge, but into Re-Release Soundtrack (it's more concise).

back lolMerge
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHow many votes are needed before we can do the necessary work?
Since there are so few wicks, I could get all this done in an hour or two.
Oh, and Merge into Re-Release Soundtrack.
We usually just get as many votes as we can and wait the three days to say we did it properly.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessPlus 1 to merge.
(Apparently + signs make bullet points. The more you know.)

I agree to merge it.
Wait a second: How on earth did I even get here?Home Version Soundtrack Replacement is a LOT larger and older than the other one and all the examples from Rerelease are already on it.
I would vote to just cut rerelease wholesale and redirect it to the already existing and far more complete trope.
It's not that much larger, Home only has 48 more wicks than Re-Release, both have under 100, and Re-Release's name is significantly better.

Re-Release Soundtrack has 16 examples... Home Release has that just in the anime section.
Yeah, but the name Re-Release Soundtrack is easier to use and type.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHome also has 64 wicks total.
That's not a very big number.
Merge.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Merge into Re-Release Soundtrack as that name is a lot better (shorter and less restrictive-looking).
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
I also vote for merging both tropes into Re-Release Soundtrack
Y'ALL JUST GOT SHREKTIt's been three days since the thread opened, and we have 10 votes for merging Home Version Soundtrack Replacement into Re-Release Soundtrack, and one 1 vote opposed.
I'll get to work migrating the wicks later today after work if that's alright.
Alright, so far I've:
- Crosswicked a few pre-existing wicks for Re-Release Soundtrack
- Taken care of any duplicate examples on Home Version Soundtrack Replacement
- Commented-out a handful of potentially bad examples on Re-Release Soundtrack
- Replaced Re-Release Soundtrack's description with Home Version Soundtrack Replacement's
- Asked for Home Version Soundtrack Replacement to be locked over at the edit requests thread, and
- Left notes on both tropes' discussion pages linking to this thread
I will take care of merging the rest of the examples soon.
Anime and Manga wicks taken care of.
Film wicks done.
Pinball and Podcast wicks done.
Rather than just move Laconic.Home Version Soundtrack Replacement over to Laconic.Re Release Soundtrack, I wrote up an entirely new one for the latter. Thoughts?

New laconic.

back lol
Alright, I Cut Listed Home's Laconic page.
Wrestling, Web Video, Webcomic, and Video Game wicks are done.
Turns out there was a lot of crosswicking that needed to be done. Re-Release Soundtrack now has 84 wicks, twenty more than Home Version Soundtrack Replacement had to begin with, and I'm not even done yet.

This is an open-and-shut case:
Re-Release Soundtrack and Home Version Soundtrack Replacement are both about the same concept: subsequent releases of a work featuring a different soundtrack than the original release.
Home Version Soundtrack Replacement was made in 2011, has 64 wicks, nearly 3,000 inbounds, and a much more detailed description. Re-Release Soundtrack was made in 2014, has only 16 wicks, and less than 50 inbounds.
I think it's pretty obvious which one we should keep.
The only thing that gives me pause is that "Re-Release Soundtrack" is such a better name than "Home Version Soundtrack Replacement". It's more concise and more inclusive too since not every example is about home media releases.
