That sort of stuff doesn't really matter on the whole though. It's still considered a good game by most people. I'm talking about how: FFXII is good but is very different stylistically and gameplay-wise from other FF games, so it's awkward to use as an introduction to the series. FFXIII is just straight up not very well regarded by many people. FFXV is the same and has different sort of gameplay. FFVIIR isn't a complete story yet and has the weird elements that lean on it being a remake of a game people are familiar with.

FFX is the only "newer" game that's both relatively similar to other FF games to work as an intro to the series and is widely liked. In fact, it competes with VII as most popular game in the series.

I forgot to mention that here, so my bad.

I'd also go with X for all the reasons Kuro said, but also the main characters are teens, so I think it has a more relate ability factor.

X-2 is a good choice then. XD.

But let's be fair, James Arnold Taylor was accurate that Tidus pre development is a spoiled teen who never really had to work hard a day in his life.

Some of the "Tales of" titles might be good, too.

I was gonna recommend Digital Devil Saga, one of my favorite JRPGs, but then I remember the only reason I found that game easy was likely because I had played Nocture beforehand.

What kind of media does she consume aside from dating sims?

It's not just a random name they made up, it's a word in Greek so they're trying to pronounce it correctly.

Its use as a name probably derives from the Christian prayer kyrie eleison (which means "Lord, have mercy"), but Japanese devs probably just think it sounds cool.

Honestly they hit it out of the park with Chairith and I really hope that we get a steel chair as her joke weapon.

I just want to say - rewatching the fight with Sephiroth at the end - I love it when Cloud starts his Flash Step against Sephiroth.

• Leaps high up and bangs swords with Sephiroth
• stabs his sword into the ground and leaps to dodge Sephiroth's next swing
• takes a swing, misses, blocks another swing from Sephiroth
• starts flash-stepping and Sephiroth shuts it down immediately
• Cloud feints and tries hitting him from the other side and Sephiroth blocks it anyway
• one of the comments says this was Cloud preparing to use Omnislash and Sephiroth "saw it coming" both literally and figuratively

This actually gets me thinking?

Is Sephiroth gonna try and trick Cloud into using those 7 seconds to push Aerith out of the way of his attack and take it himself?

After all, killing Aerith didn't help. She summons Meteor anyway even if she dies....but without Cloud, the party can't win, and Sephiroth gets the Black Materia from Cloud's corpse.

Crazy idea...or maybe not?

And suddenly it turns into Chrono Trigger, and there's an optional mission where you can revive Cloud.

I still say that Part 2 will end with everyone but Aerith dying

After finally beating this game, i gotta say the finale was crazy awesome.

Also despite reports, Cloud didn't actually defeat Sephiroth and this boss was spine crushingly hard.

You know, despite the controversy with this game, it did revitalize interest in the 23 year old world and cast.

For those that haven't seen it yet — Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade trailer:

• Updated Re-release of Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PS5.
  • Free upgrade for owners of the PS4 version.
• DLC prequel / interquel chapter focusing on Yuffie.
  • Only on PS5.
    • Included when purchasing the PS5 version, but must be purchased separately for those just upgrading the PS4 version.
  • Includes Weiss from Dirge of Cerberus as a Bonus Boss, not as part of the DLC's story.
• Releases on June 10th, 2021.

I just think it's funny how some people were legitimately worried that Yuffie and Vincent were going to be Adapted Out of Remake, since they were Optional Party Members in the original. That was already an absurd idea on its own for several reasons, but now Yuffie's got her own DLC that also includes nods to Dirge of Cerberus, which obviously means Vincent will be involved at some point in Remake's future, maybe not this DLC but definitely a later sequel.

I don't have a solid source, but I swear that they've said that both would be in the "remake" series and that neither would be optional.

I don't even need a source to believe it, it's the only logical outcome. They have every reason to include them and zero reasons to not include them.
