I don't think the current's all that bad. Of the suggestions, I like 1.1 and 1.3. 1.2 isn't nearly clear enough, the cropping of 1.4 is awkward, and 1.5 just looks like a cast shot.
I'm fine with 1.1, 1.3, or the current image.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!1.3 is both the clearest that it's an establishment and that it's a group of characters hanging out.
(Annoyed grunt)
After trying and failing to find a good image of Central Perk, I'm good with 1.3

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness1.3.
back lolDon't see anything wrong with the current so that's my vote, but 1.3 from Family guy is okay too.
But is the OP just on an anti-Simpsons crusade? All of their image suggestion posts have been getting rid of them.
I don't think that any of the suggestions are improvements over the current. I guess we could change it, but it does feel like the OP is on a bit of an anti-Simpsons crusade.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Recently there's been discussion about how The Simpsons is used on an absurd amount of wiki pages. But the consensus is more or less "If we can get a better image from a less popular work, let's change the image; but otherwise, if it ain't broke..."
Honestly, the current is fine.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI wanted to see if there was a kernel of truth to the "pro-Simpsons bias is part of the reason for the abundance of Simpsons images" talking point, and found evidence of it when looking through the image source thread and realizing that some of the Simpsons images happen to be flawed in their own particular ways. In this case, it's the fact that the characters don't even appear to be hanging out that's the flaw.
Some of those reasons seem nebulous to me (especially claiming that the image on Floating Clocks was plagiarizing Alice in Wonderland and not a reference), and in this case, they're clearly having fun in a group setting. That looks like the trope to me.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Like on this one certainly let's replace the image if something better pops up, but saying it's flawed because "they aren't hanging out together" is a pretty shallow argument. Honestly, they're hanging out more realistically than any of the suggestions based on my bar nights with friends.
That being said I'm still fond of the Family Guy one if we do decide to replace it.

None of these are really location-based to the extent of the current, so they're inferior
Current > 1.3.
And maybe quit it with the anti-Simpsons crusade? It appears not to be working.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Although I chose 1.3., I have no issue with the current.
(Annoyed grunt)Current >= 1.3 > all others.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Keep the current.
The idea that it's an "anti-Simpsons crusade" is absurd; until recently I was often pushing for Simpsons entries in a variety of threads. It's only when my attention was brought to how many are from The Simpsons that I entertained the idea that it's the show's popularity, not the show's suitability for page images, that results in it providing so many. Some of my alternatives turn out to be better, some don't, but that's no reason not to look into a show that provides too many.
Anyway... with no clear consensus either way, should we set up a crowner?
Well, your earlier post mentions a "pro-Simpsons bias". Maybe you could share your evidence for that bias?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The one on my part, or the one on the part of the site?
I haven't even watched a single Simpsons episode, but I find that many of the Simpsons images are really illustrative. I've come across multiple IP threads where a Simpsons image won, simply because they were the best.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Agreed. I've seen maybe five episodes, but the art style, the fact that so many things have happened on that show, and that episodes are pretty easily available to certain demographics makes them easy for Image Source. Avatar: The Last Airbender also provides a lot of images for similar reasons. I don't think this is a bad thing — if it ain't broke, you know. As I said on the thread for Black Swords Are Better, I'll prefer a non-Simpsons image over a Simpsons one if both are equal in illustrativeness/quality, but if the Simpsons one wins out in illustrativeness and quality, then that's no reason to not put it on the page.
Plus, I think this is one of those editors' nitpicks — I don't think a lay wiki browser cares how many Simpsons images there are.
I don't think there's pro-Simpsons bias.
The Simpsons is popular, has over 30 years of content and loves playing around with popcultural concepts, including tropes. Obviously it will have a large amount of potential image suggestions.
Same for Star Wars and Disney.

Keep the current. It's the most natural of the pictures.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
They're not hanging out, they're each doing their own different things. At most, two of 'em are half-assedly playing pool, but one of them seems more focused on his drink than his game or his opponent. We can do better than this.
