The previous thread moved the former pic to Missing Reflection. 1.1 = 1.3 > 1.4 > 1.2
Yes. I like 1.1 or 1.3, with a slight preference for 1.1.
Does those suggestion really illustrate the trope? Invisibility is not usually regarded as a "disguise", and this trope is when a supernatural character's attempt to disguise themselves to look like normal humans fails.
The suggestions are more illustrative of See the Invisible rather than this trope.
Hmmmm...that's a good point. If we don't pick any of these for this page, then I'd say 1.1 or 1.3 would be a good replacement for See the Invisible's current pic which was chosen here but isn't as good as the ones in this thread.

That's... actually a very good point. This would be a good replacement for See the Invisible (since it's better than the image currently there).
Glamour Failure, then... I'm thinking of some kind of character that can magically disguise himself as whomever he wishes, but regardless of what he chooses he always misses a hand, has a weird eye, something like that.
Like, the genie Shamir from Kings Quest VI, regardless of shape, always has the same unnatural sparkling eye animation. However, that is in 320x200 resolution so not really suitable for a wiki image. But something like that could work. Older depictions of The Devil tend to do this, too.
There's probably a good Ditto image out there
PSA: a cat is not a dogI'd be happy with these pics being on See the Invisible, and finding something better for Glamour Failure.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI like the current image on See the Invisible.
Well, on Ditto for Glamour Failure, I found this image◊ on the wiki. If we got the previous scenes of Ditto approaching Voltorb and Ditto turning into Voltorb, it could work quite nicely, I think.

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Clock is set.
The Ditto might work better if we pair it with a picture of Ditto's original form, to show that even if they can change their form, they can't change their face?
Or maybe something like this can work.

That's what I said, you just put it more succinctly.
Picture would work if it wasn't terrible quality.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Is this better? Not as many transformations, but it is less fuzzy
Heh...I kinda like that.
That strikes me as Voluntary Shapeshifting, not Glamour Failure.
(edit) it could work with a good caption. I'm not familiar enough with pokemon plushies to know that they normally don't have that goofy smile.

So, four people in favor of ditto? Any other takers?
I suppose it does require you to assume that normal Pokemon don't have that kind of face.
Ditto one looks ok to me
"Leftover items still have value!"Reclocked to give more time for discussion on the most recent suggestion.
I'll go with Ditto.
(Annoyed grunt)It doesn't illustrate the trope for me. As said before, it's more Voluntary Shapeshifting (which has a pretty bad image currently), so I vote to put it there instead.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Also not feeling the pokemon example.
Would this◊ work, or would it be in JAFAAC territory? It's Mystique impersonating a Senator, with her yellow eyes being the Glamour Failure.
I originally suggested these images in the IP thread for Invisible Monsters, but Spark 9 said they'd work better for this trope, so here we are:
[1]◊
[2]◊
[3]◊
[4]◊
I lean towards the first or second one, personally. Caption would be "This thing would normally be fully invisible, but a lot of rain and mud do a real bad number on its glamour defenses". If we need to show the glamour in action, this image◊ could be combined with any of the above.
