The bad luck Arknights has had since launch is the stuff of legends, I swear.
I know it's a bad news, but can this be written under Hilarious in Hindsight or Harsher in Hindsight?
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationBoth, depending on your sense of humour.
I mean, really the only connection is that it's a game originally from China that features a disease. I don't know that it's any more Harsher in Hindsight than, say, World War Z or anything.
It's been fun.The basic theme of disease and ostracism/quarantine the game is going for is Older Than Dirt with leprosy though. And it's not like this is the first epidemic to come out of China even in recent memory. It's more timeless than anything else.
Combining it with the Hong Kong protests is where the game's incredibly bad timing really hit though.
Bleye knows Sabers. Finally have a reliable Auto Deploy strat for CE-5 that doesn't leak woooo
Now time to figure out how to get a good auto deploy up and running for LS-5
I don't really want to bring irl stuff into this given the unfortunate coincidences, but it would have been real easy to just paint Reunion as complete monsters and the game will just be black and white. That's why I appreciate the arc that covers chapters 2 and 3 and the future chapter 6. It's a violent cycle caused by discrimination against infected. Also I was watching an LP of Spec Ops: The Line while doing chapter 3 so I got hit hard by "Do you feel like a hero yet?"
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareOkay, folks who've been playing this longer than me.
I actually managed to get Ch'en from one of my early bouts of Headhunting, and I think I have a decent functioning lineup for now.
Should I hoard my originite/orundum for future rateups like I would with quartz in F/GO, or blow it on additional headhunts?
AFAIK, Arknights has only one limited character (Nian) in its entire run so far and she's a long way off right now, so most of the 6 and 5* characters will come back in future banners or the gold cert store, so depends on what you particularly want.
also costumes are a thing and some cost Originite to buy, if that's an aspect of the game you care about.
I honestly do not know yet what I really want, aside from the knowledge that I would sell my soul for Nearl.
Sounds like I'm probably safe spending most of my stash, maybe holding a bit of originite in reserve just in case.
(For reference, my mainstays thus far are Amiya, Texas, Earthspirit, Midnight, Exusiai, and Elite 1 Fang, Gavial, and Matterhorn.)

Nearl will be in the shop for 80 gold certs in a few months, if you still don't have her by then.
Made pulls for Ch'en and ended up with a Saria on my way to getting her. Makes up for last month where I missed her on her rateup.
Will Siege ever be available?
[makes note to save gold certificates]
The game gives a bonus for the first 10 pulls (guaranteed 5* or better) and no bonus for pulling on the same banner repeatedly (the 6* pity rate carries over between banners).
So, mathematically speaking, you're best off doing a 10 pull on every new banner and then saving the rest of your originum for the next banner.
Also note that in the pack shop there is a level pack that you buy with Originium Prime that gives you a bunch of LMD and XP videos and stuff and also exactly as much Originum as if you'd converted it directly for the gacha. So you definitely want to save up enough for that.
Edit: Honestly I wish I could just dump everything into a banner since pulling is fun, but there is every reason not to in this game, unless you really really want a particular character.

BTW, how can we see the progress of our own 6* pity rates?
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationYou can't.
It sounds like one of those systems that's meant to be secret, but is a poorly-kept one.
It's been fun.I know you are guaranteed to get one after 103 pulls (the 10x does count as 10 pulls), which is 61800 Oridium or =>344 Oridium Primes, roughly three of the largest packs you can buy on the shop.
Apologies for the double post, but.
What's that? I can't read moonrunes
With Great Power, Comes Great MotivationLooks like soap that contains a little plastic figurine inside.
I tried rolling for Chen again but all I got are just 4 stars and 3 stars!
Please just give me one 5 stars operator at least for not getting Chen!
