Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Frisk moves away from Alastor, but still keeps a straight face. They then see Papyrus dragging Sans up the hill by the foot.
"HEY SANS! YOU COULD'VE JUST USED A SHORTCUT TO GET US HERE ALREADY!"
"nah, still too tired from my last season."
"THAT WAS TWO SEASONS AGO!"
Frisk just smirks a little.

Ryuzaki: General Kenobi, you are a bold one.
Bale: Ha, he said it.

Eredars asks the other nominators a simple question.
"So what's been happening as of late? I know Elliot's trying to find the six Dragon Ball on Halo and there's this party going on."
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

Bale continued talking with Power as his tributes all helped themselves to the food on the table.
Oh yeah, it was some crazy stuff, Power. There were tropers from another Universe on it, one of them looked like Zan.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
Pleased that someone got his reference, Ichi grabs another slice of pizza as he listens to Bale's story.

Power gulps down her snacks. "There's another Zan besides her glitchy self?!"
Frisk and their skeleton friends also gather near Bale, having shown interest in his tale.
"i wouldn't be surprised if i were you, pow-pow," says Sans before downing a bottle of ketchup. "i have lotsa alternate me's across many undergrounds!"
Papyrus slurps on his spaghetti. "SO DO I! IN FACT, WE EVEN SWITCHED PLACES WITH ASGORE AND TORIEL IN ANOTHER UNDERGROUND!"
Frisk just shrugs.
"You know what's even crazier than that?" says Power. "Not only do I have several alt selves, they also compete in other Multiversal reality shows like Big Brother!"
She asks Ichi to show it to them.

Bale: And that's only the beginning.
Bale then grabbed a plate and 5 quesadillas and continued telling his story.
Bale: First I was in the middle of the road when I arrived, then I went to an amusement park where I met the other tropers.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
At Power's request, he takes out his phone and tunes into the Big Brother channel, where BB!Power is currently competing alongside the other houseguests.
"This season better not get canned halfway through."

"I remember the time where there was only one Underground... Also, after I learned about the fact a dark version of me existed, I'm just about ready to believe most things."

Bale: Then, after meeting up with the other tropers we had some issues with the owner of the park, whom we wished to buy the park from. But that didn't fly. Later, we had the van used for the Road Trip vandalized by some hooligans. After dealing with them we went to our next destination... A burger factory.
Ryuzaki and Mini-Deadpool perked up at the last sentence.
Ryuzaki: A burger factory?!
MD: How is it like?
Bale: Well... It's a fun story.

Power watches her alt self ally with Van, then fall off her pole while holding onto her kite in the HoH Competition. After Iroh wins and puts CATS and Rick up for eviction, BB!Power gets chosen by CATS to play a poker/true-or-false quiz game for PoV. BB!Power lucks out while Anai wins it all, but he doesn't use his Veto on CATS or Rick.
After the competitions, CATS angrily lashes out at Entrapta for being nominated for eviction in the first place, then distances himself from the rest of the Houseguests. When it was time to kick someone out of the house, Anai and Tony Tony Chopper vote him out... while everyone else sends Rick back to his home universe.
"But but... He did nothing wrong!" says HGS!Power.
"Yeah..." says Frisk, "I don't see a good reason why that other you made that hamster leave."
"i wonder how i would do in that show..." Sans wonders out loud.
"YOU'D PROBABLY BE EVICTED FIRST FOR LAZING ABOUT!"
"hey!"
They all turn back to Bale and continue listening to his story. Power wonders if the nominators would go to a carnival one day.
"a burger factory?" asks Sans. "was that where grillby got the ingredients for his food?"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

Tale of the Fatory
Bale: On the way to the factory we got attacked by some weird person in black clothing with tranquilizer darts. I got hit by one but the guy went away eventually.
Bale continued his narration.
Bale: That factory had all kinds of burgers, regular, chicken, vegetarian, vegan, etc. Things were going fine until we saw how the burgers were made... Literally grinding cows alive to turn them into mincemeat... One of the tropers named After, tried to save one of the cows at the place which he named Bessie. She nearly was recaptured by a giant claw that brought the cows to the belt. Until I saved her.

Power cringes at the scene as she gets flashbacks to the time when the train passed through a slaughterhouse. She also vaguely recalls another nominator named 4fter... she was the one behind those inanimate objects and tributes from the Toad Patrol Universe... right?
Papyrus covers Frisk's ears from the gory details while Sans just continues listening.

Bale: Well, as I said. I saved Bessie, but the claw that was carrying her shut close on me, I nearly wound up becoming a burger until the other tropers saved me, and the fact that the claw got yanked while the tropers saved me caused it to fall into the grinder, stop the belt and destroy the factory entirely in a big explosion.
Bale hid his face in shame a bit, before resuming.
Bale: And then we wound up all dead or something? IDK, I was unconscious due to the van being sent flying and crashing into a mountain range... We were in some dark void and Guillermo del Toro was there or something.

"Remember Survivor!Kirby, and how he turned out to be worse than the Joker and Overhaul? Maybe that's why the hamster got kicked outta the house, Pow-Pow."
He helps himself to some nachos.
"Well... All I can say is that sounds like one really whack journey, Bale."

Bale: Yeah, it was pretty weird. I nearly died like twice. Guess for a vacation this was sure a bigger danger than anything I've faced in the last 2 months.

Power looks around to make sure that Kirby didn't hear anything about his Survivor counterpart before listening to the conclusion of the story. She and the others just stare at Bale with utter disbelief.
"That's rough, buddy. Then again, Ichi, 6k1, and I went through much worse than that..."
Sans and Papyrus pick up their jawbones and turn to her.
"Can we just talk about nicer things?" asks Frisk. They then look up and see a yellow rocket zooming across the sky and prod Power to look at it, too.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
Kirby
The Hilltop
Ness and Paula arrive in the hilltop. They greet Magolor and Power.
"Hi, Magolor!"
"Yo, wassup! Please, enjoy yourself!"
Ness approaches Frisk. He then shakes hands with them.
"Hi, old pal! It's been a long time!"
Paula asks him "Is this the kid you're talking about?"
"Yeah! Frisk, this is my old friend. Her name is Paula."
Ness proceeds to tell them his own adventures.
Meanwhile, Kirby and Ribbon sees the strange rocket.
"Oh look, a meteor!"
"That's no meteor!" said Magolor. "That's a rocket!"

He looks up at the rocket passing overhead.

Power greets Ness and Paula while Frisk returns the handshake. Sans shakes his head at Ness, but tries not to show that. While Frisk listens to Ness's stories of his adventures with his friends, Papyrus sees the rocket and pretends to make a wish.
"I WISH FOR LOTSA SPAGHETTI!!!"
Meanwhile, Power wonders if the next episode of Total Drama is out. She briefly excuses herself to the others and asks Ichi if they can talk about it in secret.
