Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

The Arena
That night, Max calms down from his rampage and digs for "treasure". He finds an old video tape labeled Max and Ruby Season 0 Episode 1 and puts it in, and he stares in confusion at how... different it is from his usual pranks on Ruby back home.
"Mommy? Daddy?" he asks at the screen.
The next day, Gira suddenly turns Max's head into a lemon. The little bunny yelps as Grom bites him there, but the latter somehow drops dead.
"Lemon?" asks Max.
Meanwhile, Yohane invites Peter to her fancy ball. He reluctantly attends it because he's nervous about the others seeing his half-fox form, but he still sticks around for any salads he can steal from the buffet.
The Science Center, Safety Shelter
6k1 then sees Alina throw a party in the middle of the Arena. A purple banner with Happy 6k1 Day! written on it flies above the venue and blue, pink, and white Easter eggs are hidden around it for the guests.
"Awww, thanks for organizing this!" says the female DM. "Maybe I'll forgive you for trying to crack that Yoshi Egg the other night, but what's with the trans colors for the other eggs?"
International Transgender Day of Visibility falls on the same day as Easter Sunday this Earth Prime year, says Ally.
"Oh, tonight I learned!"
Underground Bunker
Power and Bezier try to say the line at the same time.
"Don't forget to click over here—"
"Don't forget to click below—"
They end up pointing in different directions, and Moon snickers.
"Hey, you're supposed to point down here, not to the side!" Bezier tells Power.
"You'll never know when YouHoof will change its layout again!"
"But can we do another take, Ich? The camera's still runnin' y'know!"
"C'mon Bez, it doesn't have to be perfect! Ichi had to remind me time and again! Besides, this is only for 6k1, she wouldn't mind!"

The Voidlands, Shadow Kirby's House
Shadow Kirby and Anna are currently packing their stuff for their outing.
"Oh boy! An outing with a friend! I've brought some snacks!" said Anna.
"I also brought some tools and weapons." said Shadow Kirby. He then puts all of them in backpacks. Shadow Kirby and Anna puts on the backpacks and they leave the house.
"You know, i haven't really traveled with friends for a while now. You can protect me, right?" asked Anna.
"No worries, Anna. And i haven't found a lot of buddies around for a while, too." said Shadow Kirby. The two talked as they walk further into the strange wilderness.

The Arena
Peter smells the delicious aroma of a big salad bowl thanks to his Rabbitsune form's enhanced olfactory senses. He then sneaks towards the table and snatches the bowl with his muzzle, but the guards at the ball catch him and throw him in jail. Later that night, he finds a crowbar just outside his cell and reaches for it with his now-longer paw. He breaks the door open with it and runs down the hallways, and then sticks his tongue out at the Peacekeepers as they chase him and try shooting him.
Maybe this transformation isn't so bad after all! he thinks as he leaps onto a wall to dodge the bullets before jumping outside and getting in a police car. He then fiddles with the steering wheel and brakes and manages to drive off from his pursuers. Just then, he sees a massive joint birthday party being held for everyone but Alina. Peter parks his car and goes down to celebrate, hoping he can get away with stealing more salad this time.
In another part of the venue, Max's head turns back to normal, and he's about to make a mess on the dance floor when Allen suddenly shows up. The little bunny tenses up at seeing the same person he saw in his nightmare, and he shrieks when Allen bites his paw before leaving. Max then transforms into a little human boy with bunny ears and wonders what just happened.
The next day, Peter sniffs out some silverfish, having developed a craving for them. He finds some hiding under a rock and licks them up.
Meanwhile, Max finds Gira again but throws a tantrum at him for turning his head into a lemon the other day. The human bunny boy then runs off, finds a big red mecha, and pilots it by randomly mashing some buttons. He makes it fire large beam cannons and drones at Gira, reducing him to a pile of dust.
Scorbunny!Stacy: Huh? Didn't know that there was a Trans Visibility Day to begin with. But man, Max has gone crazy, eh?

"I know..." says 6k1, "but yes, there are many holidays celebrating trans and nonbinary people..."
"...just like there are several holidays celebrating a-specs," adds Juan.
"That reminds me, last EP year, I nominated Maude for International Ace Day because it just so happened to fall on Maundy Thursday that time!"
"Then would you have nominated a trans rabbit had you known about the holiday overlap this EP year?"
She shrugs. "Maybe, but I don't know any at the moment."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
"Take two, and try sounding like Jodie Whittaker and David Tennant respectively."
Kirby
Outside the Science Center
Adeleine and Ribbon turn up right outside the Science Center, seemingly wanting to get in.

The Arena
That night, Peter finds Skipper Dan shuddering and asks him what's wrong. The latter tells him that he's afraid, so Peter suggests staying close to Allen, unaware of what he did to Max or that the fighter stole Peter's diary the other night.
"But he threw zat mustard jar at me and hit me right here!" says Dan, pointing to his bruise.
"Oh..." says Peter.
Meanwhile, Max still fumbles with his Neo Zeong, but slowly gains control of it. He points its beam cannon at Qilby and demands his liver, but he brushes it off as an (early) April Fool's joke and leaves.
While Peter cracks open the Yoshi Egg with a stick for breakfast at the Feast, Max tracks down Qilby, but the human bunny boy gets hungry. He gets down from his mechanic and makes himself pizza by spreading mayo all over it and topping it with peas. After baking it, he helps himself to a slice, but he gets disgusted looks from Sukuna and Zhen after they argue about whether or not pineapple pizza is good.
"Normally I'm friendly towards your kind," says Zhen, "but even though your ears are the only reminder of your true form now... I'm making you an exception!"
She kicks Max down with the kung-fu skills she learned from Po, and the boy cries in pain as Sukuna, whom he also saw in his nightmare, finishes him off.
Later that day, Peter sees what seems to be Alina in a different outfit approaching him, but he notices that her face looks off. He swats it away with his nine fox tails and gasps upon seeing it's actually Sukuna.
"Y-You're not Alina..." says Peter before folding his ears and running away from him.
The Science Center, Safety Shelter Entrance
"Please state your business," the first guard tells Adeleine and Ribbon.
"Where have you been?" asks the second one. "Were you attacked by the E.M.M.I. or those Atomozoids earlier today?"
Underground Bunker
Power and Bezier try saying the line again, but this time, Bezier ends up Corpsing midway, making Moon snortle.
"Sorry sorry sorry!" he says in his normal voice. "I tried lowering my pitch but I sounded so silly like that!"
"It's okay, Ralsei and I tried adjusting our voices when we switched bodies, and we both sounded like adolescent boys dealing with voice cracks!"
"Oh Solaris, that sounds awkward!"
Power chuckles. "Good one, Bez!"

The Fourth-Placers' Revenge
Stanford's Lair, Looniversity Room
Sabre staggered back at the pegasus's counterattack, his sword knocked from his hands. He quickly put up a forcefield spell, but although it kept him from being injured, he was still pinned down, He struggled against Flash Magnus, trying to break free before his spell ran out of power.
Tricky, meanwhile, intercepted Spike at the trapdoor. Though he was tempted to headbutt the dragon directly, he remembered what Tokage had said and decided on another plan. He took a deep breath, then blew out an intense burst of flame aimed for Spike's bracer, hoping it was less fire-resistant than he was.
Stanford's Lair, Tribute Quarters
Kaidan barely managed to start scanning before turning to glare at Scipion, distracting him just as Rainbow Dash came at him. He was knocked off his feet, his kinetic barriers not being designed to withstand the impact of something her size, and desperately threw a biotic punch to try to push her back - getting caught in melee with allies like these wasn't going to end well.
"There's some kind of devices on them!" he said, doing his best to get back up. "See if you can disable them!"
Stanford's Lair, Jet Room
Shepard caught a glimpse of Discord's wavering, but didn't have a chance to capitalise on it before being forced to roll back to avoid Reba's lightning. By the time Shepard had scrambled to a new piece of cover, there wasn't a clear shot at him any more. However, the Commander did notice the out-of-control party cannon, and fired a concussive shot at it, hoping either to break it or dislodge Greta.
"I've got an idea, but I'll need a clear line of fire!" Shepard called to the others.
The cat rookie flinched as the ceiling opened up, but then saw Miss Ball coming in to protect her. She gave the seal a smile, then got back to making repairs on the control panel.
Outside Lair
Rivet scanned the horizon through her Headhunter scope. "Any word back from the scouting group yet?" she asked. "Have they found a way off this rock?"
"Good question," said Saheeli. She took out her communicator. "Rookie, what's your status?"
A dead silence filled the air for a moment before she remembered.
"...Right, he's not the talkative sort," she said. "Let's try Krystal."
"I'd be careful about that," said Nine-Tailed Cat's voice. "It might get confusing if both she and I are on the line at the same time. Same with Sabre and Sandy, or Kaidan and Majel, or Shepard and Nought."
All three squad members looked very confused, but shrugged it off.
"All right, then," said Saheeli. "Kyte it is."
Before she could call, though, Rivet caught sight of a figure in the distance. "Hold on. Is that Knox?"
Ashley took a look through her own scope. "Looks like it," she said. "But why's he alone? Where are Fire Eyes and Blood Moon?" She lowered her rifle and frowned. "I've got a bad feeling about this."
Waiting for the scouts to get some actual results before we hear anything from them.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.

That night, a random teacher tells Peter that there'll be a history test the next day. He looks at them in confusion, then snatches their phone and gets away. He then tries quizzing Rogu on his exam readiness by asking what ended in a random year, and he responds "the previous year".
yeah u ready Peter replies.
The Rabbitsune then decides to skip school the following morning by hacking the speakers to rickroll everyone in the Arena. He then thinks of having the Pokémon Egg for dinner, but he sees it somehow about to open a bag of chips. He swipes it out of the Egg's "reach" and stomps on it.
"Survival of the fittest!" he taunts it.
He continues trolling it the next day by asking it to speak English. He then gasps when it actually tells him to "keep strugglin'".

Cafe Sweetrhythm
A meeting between the cafe's owner and local nominator, Rayne, and his tributes, right after the conclusion of Season 319.
"So, how was things doing?" Rayne asked with a curious, innocious tone.
The girl with pink-colored outfit and a similarly pink-colored rabbit hat, LLENN (Karen Kohiruimaki) spoke up first. "I thought my luck and skills would make it out there... That wizard caught me off guard..."
"That dastard! At least I have someone to vent my anger upon...!" said a taller figure. Pitohui (Elsa Kanzaki) can be seen clenching her fists after saying that.
"Don't worry about it. Maybe some later time you might actually make it to either top three or get the most kills, LLENN. And as for you, Pitohui, isn't Battle Royale is coming up soon? I'm praying for the simulator to give you a good showtime. The database has your informations written on it as the 314th season third place. I was surprised and thought at first you died before that, but like, that's a pretty good job."
"No worries,", Pitohui smirked, "I will prevail against the odds that even LLENN can't handle."
"And... You?" Rayne turned her attention to someone else; a girl with average height with the hair color being somewhere between light gray and brown, and blue irises.
"Yes?" she asked.
"As the runner-up of 309th season, could you do the favor to win the Battle Royale for me? It's a battle between the recent season winners and top tributes."
You Watanabe said nothing for a while, before asking. "Whoa, really? I didn't even exactly won on my debut, but, if you want to so... Aye aye!
Rayne smiled for a while, then turned his head down. "Good luck, then. I was hoping my shaky luck can be finally resolved for this once. I wonder what I have done something bad to displease the RNG deities that caused my male clients nominated in the earlier seasons to have a tendency to die early..." he said as he put his right hand to brush parts of his hair. "Next customer, please?"

"We're just trying to look for a safe shelter here, really." said Adeleine.
"And we're okay. We didn't encounter anything dangerous." said Ribbon.

Hmm...I can't recall if any of the few people I nominated fell into were trans or NB. (PV mutters.) Maybe I should change that if the games ever start up again in our universe?
(She checks her communicator.) Ah yes, I see that purple pelican again for this Battle Royale...and it looks like there's a Pokémon with him this time.
(Of course, a cursory glance will show that the very confused and nervous-looking creature next to Chansome is not a Pokémon. Looks an awful lot like one, though.)
Uh huh, never thought I'd find myself here again, brbrbrbrlll. Binyah-Binyah Polliwog's lucky he didn't have to either! (Chansome turns to the unfamiliar creature.) Hello, you're new, hmm?
I don't know what's going on here! Everyone looks like they wanna cut me up into a zillion pieces like the bad people where I'm from do! (The creature says.)
They'd need an awfully big pair of scissors for that, wouldn't they, brbrbrbrblll? (Chansome comments.)
N-No, it-...oh, never mind... (They curl up on their podium.)

(Norton asks if Allen is okay after his data clone's death, which he responds with "Yes, but I feel itchy all over!")
(Then, Norton and M-Frame data clone Clove and Blair and ask the latter if she wants to use VR, to which she says she'd love to, but her overprotective parents would never let her. She wishes Norton and M-Frame good luck in the BR, though)

The Arena
That night, a mysterious hooded person gives Peter a lotto ticket. He tucks his tails between his legs, thinking that it's Mr. McGregor, but the person just tells him to compare the ticket's numbers to the winning combo before leaving. Peter then does as told, but none of the numbers match, so he doesn't win the prize money. Not that he knows what to do with it, though.
The next day, he finds a barcode scanner and picks it up with his muzzle. He curiously tests it on a zebra, and does a double take when it somehow registers as a barcode.
Later that night, Qilby orders him to hunt lizards to make a scaled necklace, "or else". Peter folds his ears and cowers, but does what he's ordered. He later comes back with the scales and gives them to Qilby before running away once again.
The next day, Peter sees that Qilby is still around, so he continues keeping his distance from him. But then the Rabbitsune realizes how long he's been away from his family and wishes to go home soon. Just then, he feels something strange in his body, and when he blinks hard, he suddenly ends up a short distance from where he was just standing. He tries out this new warping skill and tries escaping the Arena by tele-hopping, but he hits the Forcefield and gets fried into rabbit-fox meat.
The Science Center, Safety Shelter
Outside
"Good to hear!"
"But isn't your nominator's place also safe to stay in?" the other guard says dryly. "But whatever, I'll call Ally before we let you in."
Inside
6k1's jaw drops upon seeing Peter be among the final three of the season.
"Whoa..." says Juan, "I suppose we can talk about that... thing about the BR later. Congrats again!"
"Yeah, thanks!" She then tells Ally, "as per my protocol, send in Data Peter again this BR, but back in his normal form, and ask the real one if he wants to keep his Rabbitsune form for outside Arena use."
Affirmative, but regardless, there is a low nonzero probability that his data clone might regain that form this coming season, and it is unknown if he can be able to adjust well to it again.
"I know. And as for Goyle, just go with the procedure as normal."
OK.
Ally then gets the signal from the guards.
But before I proceed with that, we have two new guests here, but do not worry, they are here as refugees.
"Whoever they are, I hope they're alright..."
I am in agreement with that. Ally then sends another signal back to the guards that it's okay for Adeleine and Ribbon to enter.
"Anyway, that Pokémon-like creature in the Arena right now just reminded me..." says Juan. "PV, you think we should go look for Haban-Arrow around here?"
Underground Bunker
Star rolls her eyes at Bezier. Of course he'd also be a punster like sis...
He and Power then do one more take, and this time, they nail the line perfectly, and then they hoofbump and go whoosh.
"And cut, Ichi!" says Power.
"Now add some special effects to make us look like we're in space! Ooooooo!" says Bezier as he waves his hooves in the air.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
Scorbunny!Stacy: I hope they're friendly.
"And done. Let's fire up the metaphorical TARDIS and send this beaut to Six."
He does just that.

Power and Bezier then wait for 6k1's reaction to their video. At the Shelter, she checks her messages and shows it to Juan, Stacy, and PV while waiting for Adeleine and Ribbon to arrive.
"Glad Bez is enjoying his stay there!" says Juan.

Ally then goes off to arrange with Rua for 6k1's PFs while 6k1, Juan, Mimi, and Dupe meet with Adeleine and Ribbon after they slide down.
"Where have you been?"
"I heard there was an invasion here and at the Library much earlier."
"Yeah! We were almost captured by those evil robots!"
Dupe mews in agreement.
"Are you alright?" 6k1 asks Adeleine and Ribbon. "Did those Atomozoids attack your place, too?"
Underground Bunker
"Sooooo did she like it?" Bezier asks Ichi.
"I hope she's doing alright!" adds Power.
