ITT: We're Animals in a Post-Apocalyptic Town

"That's a nice name!" says the armadillo. "Nice to meet you, Jack. I'm Peter."

(Oh, right, she should introduce herself. Everyone else is doing that right now, she may as well.) Oh, um, I'm Wanda, by the way. (The dinosaur quickly says.)

Jack smiles. "Nice to meet you."

He looks back at the job board. "So, like Wanda was saying... which one looks good?"

Peter points at a piece of paper on the bulletin board that looks like it was added recently.

"I was just looking at this one," he says. "It's from a local archaeologist who's interested in some ruins about an hour's walk from here. Apparently, most of it hasn't been explored yet. It seems kind of dangerous, though..."

Ruins...danger...? (Wanda repeats. She seems lost in thought for a moment before flashing a toothy grin.) Danger's my middle name! How soon can we get going?

Ooh, I'm down for that!

The porcupine grins manically.

Jack smiles. "We? Wow, I've never worked with other people before. It's great to have... friends?"

"Aw, Jack," says Peter, also smiling. Although they only just met, he feels as if he and the hyena have know each other for a long time. "Alright, so that's me, Jack, Wanda, Percy... anyone else want to come?"

Oh, don't forget me! Percy says, having forgotten his own name.

"I guess I'll go," says Ari.

"Same with me."

By the way, I changed her name to Rachel.

"Sorry, Rachel, but this job we'll be doing is dangerous," says Peter. "There are monsters outside the town and we may end up running into them. You're a bit young to be coming with us."

That's still kind of young for dangerous missions like these. I mean, you are allowed to have your character be 12 or 13, but since our characters are mostly older than that, we will naturally be concerned for her.

"Yeah," Jack agrees with Peter. "You must have parents or someone nearby..."

"I do have a twin sister named Rachel, she's on a camping trip, I hope she hasn't turned into a rabbit either."

I don't have any problem with you participating in this thread, Alivia, but our characters probably wouldn't realistically let a child come with them on this mission because of how dangerous it is. I'm sure we can work it, though; we just need a good reason why she would have to come with the group. Also, I think you missed what Puma said before, but our characters here have always been animals.

"Yeah," says Peter. "Anyway," he adds, pointing at the note on the bulletin board, "it looks like this request was posted by one Professor Diggs. He's an archaeologist, it looks like. It says here that he'd like to meet anyone who's interested in person to discuss things in more detail... so, shall we go over to his place?"

(Wanda shrugs.) I'm game. I'd head that way if I knew where he lived or who he was, so...you guys lead the way, I guess.

"Hello?"

"Hi," Jack says to the cat. "Do you want to come with us? All of you are welcome to. Sorry if we didn't make it clear."

"Oh, right!" Peter also says to the cat. "I didn't ask your name, sorry."

The stag would take another look at the board.

"Guess I'll do that archaeologist job too."

The fox scratched their head. “I don’t know what job I want!”

"You can come with us if you want!" Peter says to the fox.

"Yeah!" says Jack. He smiles a little sadly. "Man, I can't believe I never considered going in a group. But now this seems like the only logical way to do it..."

Man, I would have gone by myself if I wanted to, but...uh...yeah, might help to go with a group on my first trip out, you know? (Wanda remarks.)
