Huh? Watchmen is trending? What's that all about?
(Sees that Rorschach has inspired what appears to be a cult.)
Oh that's...something.
(I immediately thought adding eyeholes kind of ruins it, but then it clicked to me that these guys are imitators, so of course it wouldn't be perfect.)

Rorschach inspiring a cult of white men is probably the most realistic thing in this trailer.
there's probably a cult for Dr.Manhatton too
New theme music also a boxI'm very Meh on this.
Yeah, like....who wanted this series? Who felt the need for something like that?
Can't we just let the Watchmen comic be? Hasn't it been dragged through the mud enough, by various adaptations?

If I'm being honest I think it might be an attempt to get a new series going after the end of Game of Thrones, considering that's one of their more popular shows. Granted, I have absolutely no evidence for this theory.
And at any rate it (hopefully) won't be subject to Schedule Slip the way Doomsday Clock has been.
EDIT: Apparently there's also a Watchmen tabletop game from 1986 (or whenever it came out) that is officially semi-canon. Still, that's not a lot when it comes to adaptations... unless one counts Pax Americana or The Question.

I don’t see the issue with giving Watchmen a show.
Most comics would be lucky to have a TV show or movie so it’s kinda a good thing.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Alan Moore is going to grumble about this too
New theme music also a boxAlan Moore will grumble about everything.
He's been getting screwed over for 30 years, he's allowed to be upset.
Oh God, people actually yelling out "Tick tock" is the single worst earsore I ever heard in a trailer. I personally would've just liked actual clock's ticking sound louder, like in Dunkirk.

Probably. Westworld was meant to be their new flagship series but I don't know if it'll continue to be that. Rumor says Nolan and Joy have signed contracts with Amazon suggesting S3 will be that show's last.
Though, I also suspect HBO in general might be testing the water on a lot of new stuff anyway. They have a couple of historical pieces in the works like the currently airing Gentleman Jack and the soon Catherine the Great.
SDCC trailer
Damn, that looks good. And I'm guessing "Laurie Blake" is Laurie Juspeczyk using her father's last name.
Honestly I'm waiting to see how Doomsday Clock ends (it has been surprisingly good). Alan Moore can grumble but given that this is the guy who openly shits on other characters in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen I'm not inclined to be too sympathetic (maybe there's a difference between adapting characters in public domain and being screwed out of your work but bitching about your work being disrespected when you make Wendy Dorothy and Alice star in child pornography, turn James Bond into a traitor or have Harry Potter PISS LIGHTNING complaining about your own work being disrespected is the HEIGHT of hypocrisy.)

Doomsday Clock still going? How many delays have there been now? I stopped reading it and was going to wait until the TPB got released.
It's on issue 10 or so.
Wake me up at your own risk.Official trailer
Reviews have started to come in. Mostly positive from what I can tell. Apparently it'll mostly be set in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Big Bad seems to be "the Seventh Cavalry," a white supremacist group inspired by Rorschach.
Today's the day: The first episode "It's Summer and We're Running Out of Ice", premieres at 9pm EST with two reruns at 10:03 pm and 12:15 am.

Liked the first episode. Little slow but has a lot of promise and sharp cinematography.
The setting is fairly engaging with the Alternate History tweaks and Sister Night is a great lead. I think the only part that truly threw me off here is the whole "anonymous police officers" aspect and the bit where Sister Night tortures a man (even if a white supremacist) heroically. Seems like a bit of a mixed message going on.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."In this day and age no one really cares about the rights of white supremacists.
The first trailer for Damon Lindelof's Watchmen has come out:
Instead of being a straight adaptation, the show is said to be a "remix" of elements of the comic and set ten years after the comic (yes, kind of like Doomsday Clock, but without the DC crossover). Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias and, according to the Wikipedia page, two characters from Doomsday Clock are also going to be appearing: Marionette and the Mime.
