Pokémon Anime: Singular Series Split and Reorganization

My argument is that Anime.Pokemon The Series is "the singular series", whereas the sub-series are part of the same work. It's just another variation of the soft split vs. hard split debate.

So then

Anime.Pokemon The Series Journeys

It's officially Pokémon Journeys: The Series.

Alright then

Anime.Pokemon Journeys The Series.

How about these work titles?

Anime.Pokemon The Original Series (Covers Pokémon the Series: The Beginning and Pokemon the Series: Gold and Silver).

Alright. Due to being over two years in the making (well more like one year and another year of hiatus) as well as the fact today is Pokémon Day, I went ahead and establish the work pages today.

Do note that because of the sandbox being on hiatus and the Pokémon anime constantly airing new episodes, leading to new feedbacks and revisions on opinions, the work pages may be slightly out of date. Any help on the new pages would be appreciative.

Most of these look fine, but is there a reason that The Beginning and Gold & Silver are lumped together under the conjectural "original series" name?

Because for a long time, Kanto and Johto were considered to be one series since Japan didn't rebrand the anime under a new name until the Advanced Generation saga, Ash's outfit doesn't change from Kanto to Johto, and the fact that the cast remains the same in both Kanto and Johto (Tracey being only the temporary exception).

The Johto seasons are more akin to say Pokémon XY&Z or Pokémon Best Wishes Episode N. Technically you can divide it into two series for the English dub retroactively (a lot of these titles were retroactively labeled since the XY days) but for the sake of being consistent with the Japanese distribution, Kanto and Johto are placed under one title.

However, that can change if there's enough discussion about it. This would, however, require sweeping through the examples and figuring out which ones belong to which region.

Thanks for the explanation. The reason I asked about it was because, per the English Localization Cleanup thread, site policy is to use the most recent official English titles of works. Following that policy to the letter would mean splitting the original series, but I'm not sure if this rule would still apply in a case that would require splitting a work page instead of just renaming one.

For what it's worth, I'd support the split, both to stay in line with the above rule and to allow for examples specific to only one of the two series.

While there is no official usage for "Original Series" English official sites don't seem to be using the "Pokemon the Series: The Beginning" as far as I can tell.

As for splitting it up... honestly it wouldn't add any value. It's more closer to splitting off a separate story arc than an entirely different show.

Anime.Pokemon itself still needs to be moved.

Alright, I moved the majority of the anime pages under Pokemon the Series title. Need to cut out a typo page (triva) but for the most part, it looks good.

We'll need to sort through the video examples at some point.

I just want to congratulate all of y'all for cleanly dividing/splitting up the Pokemon anime pages, and on the day of Pokemon's 25th anniversary no less.

Thanks! I have to admit, it should have been finished much earlier but outside factors had put this cleanup project on hiatus for a long time. In fact, it was the Pokémon 25th anniversary that motivated me to make the final push.
