Yeah, at that distance it's impossible to tell he's on a shield. A close-up crop would work better. Legolas surfing on his shield in the LOTR films would work, too.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested. I can still kinda tell it's supposed to be a shield.

Consensus on Mochi, yes, not so much on which one. All three of them are PNGs, so I'm not sure how anyone's getting quality issues on them.
