Context for : Apparently, there's a cut of the movie with CGI buttholes. I guess because they're cats?
Man, just when you thought the execution for this movie couldn't get dumber...

maybe they should release the good cut of the movie, which is just the credits

New theme music also a boxI didn't know it was available to stream. I haven't see ads for the film since January and it doesn't have a physical release.
... I mean, that post was in direct response to people talking about this (even less real than the Snyder Cut) topic already.

SoundCloudA followup tweet quotes someone on the vfx team denying it, but saying they did have to touch up personal areas when shadows or folds in the skin led to Unfortunate Character Design.
... basic common sense tells you that it's not true. The movie was so behind including and especially in its graphics that they wouldn't have added that in the first place. If they saw "we're behind schedule and over budget. What should we cut?" "Cat anuses" would've been the very first thing, not the very last.
I know the movie is basically in the Tyson Zone but try to keep some critical thinking about you (not addressing anyone in particular, but people in general).
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Someone who worked in the production has clarified this, and it wasn't that they had buttholes originally, but the "digital fur technology" didn't looked so well in certain shots giving the impression of buttholes and vaginas.
As if this movie didn't look sexual as hell already.
It's been 3000 years…C A T A N U S E S...
The fact we have to contemplate such a pair of words and their inclusion in a movie says a lot about Cats.
When making South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, Matt Stone had a memo outlining in detail of the different obscene things they were fighting to keep in the movie, one of which was "We are leaving in the scene with Carman's mom and the horse. This is one we are really fighting for. PS. This is my favorite memo ever."
Hearing about the conversations going on to get Cats made, I think they would be particularly amused.
Congratulations to Cats for getting nominated for 9 Razzies and winning 6 of them!
Honestly, I'm not surprised.
I will say that there is at least one movie addition that I really like (remember I'm unironically a fan of the musical). I actually really like the way the Macavity number is staged, with a more villainous Bombalurina gushing about him before he makes his grand entrance. It's not enough to save the movie or make it genuinely good, but it's a cool touch.
I kinda wish they went through with making the main protagonist a mute cat who speaks entirely through dance like in the musical.
It's been 3000 years…I'm curious, if I may: is Macavity portrayed in the movie in the same way as in the musical?
I ask because, as someone who likewise is unironically a fan of the musical, its handling of Macavity is one of the few things that I dislike about it. (In part because I'm also unironically a fan of the originating Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.)
My Games & Writing> I kinda wish they went through with making the main protagonist a mute cat who speaks entirely through dance like in the musical.
A main character without any lines would be waste of Star power and probably make it a hard sell
New theme music also a boxShe's a new actress, what sort of star power would she have?
It's been 3000 years…Real little, and after this one, a lot less.
Wake me up at your own risk.> She's a new actress, what sort of star power would she have?
She has potential, its her first majer role of course they're going to give her a speaking part
New theme music also a boxSo, how do you see her chances of recovering from this?
Wake me up at your own risk.A counterpoint for that: Marlee Matlin won an Academy Award in her film debut, and she often doesn't speak in her roles. Granted, it's because she's deaf, but it is possible.
It's been 3000 years…I do feel very bad for Francesca Hayward. She did not deserve this, especially as her first major acting role.
It should be said that her main thing is dancing. She's a highly successful ballet dancer and has been the principal dancer in many high-profile productions. Cats was more of a side project to her (in her words, she grew up watching Cats and thought it would be fun to audition but didn't expected to land the lead) and hadn't really thought of giving up dancing for a acting career. She has pretty much returned to her ballet in high profile productions, so her main passion is unaffected.
I need to know which idiotic person thought that this would be a good idea.
