Wow. Gray's covers are just too good.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireBig’s custom controller is clearly giving him an unfair advantage.
SoundCloudCustom? That's official!
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNot sure if my reaction should be “Of course it is,” or “today I learned.”
SoundCloudIssue 26 is out. It makes sense that they can do it, but I didn't expect them to be able to control the Rogue's extreme gear, honestly.
Judging by comments elsewhere, we're definitely going to have another What An Idiot entry in regards to the heroes sending Gemerl, a robot, to fight Zeena. But of course, I just know some will apply that trope to Cream for jumping into the portal despite being told to stay put (said "stay put" moment, I should add, pissed me off to no end).
Oh, if anything, Cream being there will enable Gemerl to break free of Zeena’s control. Somehow. There’s not enough time left in the arc.
SoundCloudExactly my thoughts lol Cream did a good thing in going in with Gemerl! Otherwise, the heroes would've just given the Deadly Six a new powerful weapon. Cream at least gives a chance for Gemerl to break free

Granted, the next-cover preview makes it look like there will be a cost, but obviously it’ll all work out in the end. I’d be more distraught if there were more issues left in the arc.
SoundCloudWait. I knew they were sending Gemerl to fight Zeena, but I assumed they thought he'd be immune to her ability to control machines (since we've only ever seen the Deadly Six control Eggman robots...but did they not consider she'd control him when they sent him out....what were they thinking?!
I figured they had some kind of plan or something.
One Strip! One Strip! They seems to think that she’d be easy enough to deal with that Gemerl could win without risk of being controlled, though that’s its own problem.
SoundCloudI mean, I suppose if he just blitzed her right away, grabbed the Emerald, and then bolted, it might be possible, but that's still pretty careless. I guess considering how strapped for allies they are, I can get why they'd not think about it too much and hope for the best.
One Strip! One Strip! It's honestly pretty contrived.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.No kidding! Especially since there's a much better setup that's much less risky:
-Have Gemerl guard the Master Emerald in Knuckles' stead, thus he's free to fight Zazz with Espio, or any other of the D6, and Gemerl doesn't risk getting taken over and used against them
-Send Amy and Cream after Zeena, while Tails takes on Zomom on his own. This way we get Amy and Cream working together again (after so long), and Tails further reaffirms his badassery by taking down Zomom on his own
Granted, this leaves Gemerl with nothing to do, which is just as bad as the attempted leaving Cream nothing to do given both their long absences. But if the Final Boss of their debut saga is going to be the Deadly Six, you're going to have to keep the robot out of the action, unless you want the characters to look like idiots
I mean, if they at least give a reason why they're sending Gemerl that makes sense from their point of view, I'd be ok with it.
That set up sounds much better.
One Strip! One Strip!Right, so I checked it out. Sonic admits that Gemerl going to fight Zeena is risky. I think the hope was that he's go in, nail her hard (shut it) and then bolt with the Emerald before she even has chance to go ''what hit me?
And it might have worked if Cream hadn't gone in and introduced herself...or at least that's my logic. It really was just bad planning.
Zik being able to control the Extreme Gear is an issue. There's never been any indication they could control all machines. I wonder if Sega will borrow that detail if the six return again.
Eggman mocking Sonic that his own actions combating the Virus may have helped it spread is certainly him driving the knife in deep. And he's probably right that this is gonna stick with Sonic. He's already secretly blaming himself, even if he still defends his decision to spare Tinker (though I think he'll be less forgiving with Metal Sonic from this point on).
One Strip! One Strip!I love Flynn's Eggman. So twisted yet so delicious.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I still say that Gemerl would've been taken control of, regardless of whether Cream did what she did or not. Zeena wasn't even looking at Gemerl, focused mostly on Cream, and the dude still ended up getting taken over by her without effort, so I don't think a "hit and run" would've even worked. What Cream did was reckless, but sending Gemerl to fight any of the Deadly Six was just stupid. And perhaps Cream wouldn't have been impulsive if they simply included her in the plan and allowed her to fight, given that she lost her entire family to the Metal Virus and is a competent combatant in her own right. There really was no reason to leave Cream out of the action beyond her emotional state (but even then, Cream had enough clarity to prevent Whisper from assassinating Eggman, yet Whisper gets to be involved while Cream is told to stay put?), and doing so only makes their praise of her bravery (and Sonic's mentioning of her potential) come off as disingenuous
The others don't know that Whisper was gonna snipe Eggman. That being said, your other points still stand. They definitely should have had Gemerl stay to help protect the emerald. He's also the best choice for defending the Island if Sonic turns.
This plan was badly thought out all in all.
One Strip! One Strip!The What An Idiot section on the YMMV page is already distressingly long XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.Aaaaand now Cream has had Idiot Ball added to her character page -_-* Thanks a lot, Flynn. I know he's sick right now and sincerely hope he heals soon. But he just had to pull the "stay put, it's too dangerous!" on Cream again, because that was everyone's favorite part of Post-Reboot Archie Sonic, especially us Cream fans. And now made her look and act like a total idiot on top of that. And here I was thinking Cream was finally being done justice in IDW
Oh well, join the club of "My fave character bearhugged the Idiot Ball in IDW", it's getting rather large, though maybe there's still room left.
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"Join the club.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Whether this is dragging or not the idea of a zombie virus in Sonic of all things, and Sonic being constantly plagued by the infection is pretty ingenious. I'm rather fond of this arc. Seeing Sonic tuckered out is something you don't see often.
Also Tails fighting Zeena and Zomom. Neato.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
What I caught:
In the leaderboard, while Big is 1st place and Sonic and Shadow are fighting over 2nd place, Jet is dead last.
What I didn't catch:
Omega's holding a little flag with the red emblem from the Shadow the Hedgehog game's logo.
Cheese and Chocola are holding an upside-down "YAY" sign.
I like the Vanilla part the most. Bet she's a beast at all the Nintendo Hard games.
One Strip! One Strip!
