First-look images of the crew.
And a premiere date: November 19.
They all look great
Show accurate costumes that don't look like cosplay? Nice! Already doing better than like 90% of live-action anime adaptations.
Aw, hi Ein.
Nice job on Spike's hair and on catching the spirit of Jet and Faye's outfits without being cosplay. That's a good-looking Spike Spiegel suit, though. I'm glad.
Of course the loudest criticisms I see on social media two hours later are on Faye's apparent Adaptational Modesty.
gasp, they made her wear less revealing clothing!
New theme music also a boxDeath Note is also trending because Netflix will never be forgiven for that. Ever.
I dare any of them to try to do a fight scene in booty jeans and a tube top. It looks like her anime outfit AND the actress/stunt people can do fights without everything falling out. win-win.
Okay, love the look of the actors there. Got a little more faith in this project now.
still wondering about radical Edward
New theme music also a boxhad this idea Edward should be a cartoon character acting alongside cartoon characters like in Rodger rabbit
New theme music also a boxI also like how they managed to accurately depict the garish colors of Spike and Faye's outfits in the anime (and in Faye's case also hair) without looking ridiculous.
Particularly like the sort of Changshan look of Spike's suit, which makes sense given his background and the fact that you almost don't notice that Faye is wearing body armor.
I did initially think that Jet's robotic arm was a bit too neat and "Winter Soldier-y", but in this picture it looks sufficiently bulky and it better conveys his costume.

Cowboy Bebop Goes To White Castle.
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, starring a floofy-haired John Cho
Wonder how the vehicles are gonna work.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I’m seeing an equal number of complaints about making Jet well…black.
I really don’t know why studios bother sometimes. The battle to convince people these things can be good was lost a long time ago that any show has to be an Emmy winner, which genre TV is almost never, to counteract the “Netflix Adaptation” meme.

I wonder which of the original production staff will write episodes for this series.
I would think and hope for Nobumoto, but you never know.
Ein should get his own show.
Everyone else is secondary.

I literally forgot Jet wasn't Black. Beau Billingslea's voice is imprinted on my brain.
The "this character got racebent to pander to sjws" dialogue is so played out at this point there's nothing to add (tho idk maybe it hasn't happened as much to anime fans). It's the same old song and dance every time.
In this case it is less a race issue and more an issue of credibility (especially since Jet was Ambiguously Brown). Namely, when it comes to live-action adaptations of anime, Netflix doesn't have any. (Alice in Borderland was made by a Japanese studio so it doesn't count). So any change is just more proof Netflix ruins everything. There were rumors at one point Ein wasn't going to be a corgi, or the outfits. Ignoring the reasons some of these things would be issues in other productions, in adaptations of anime and manga, I can safely say that any change from the original is scrutinized in the most negative light possible, regardless of reason or origin.

I guess I just don't see why you're bringing these things up unless they're complaints you share.
Like you mentioned Jet being black, is that something that bothers you?
Awesome!
Burning love!
