ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

"My name?" says the Sandshrew. "I... I'm not sure..."

He struggles to remember. Does it maybe start with a V? ...Victor? No, that doesn't sound right...

"...Oh!" he says. "I think I remember... Rex? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it... That's really all I can recall, though. I must have lost my memory somehow..."

"Rex! That's a cool name! Nice to meet you, Rex. I'm, uh..."

The Drifloon closes his eyes and struggles to think of his name. Suddenly, he opens his eyes again.

"You know, the name 'Bailey' really stands out to me. That must be my name."

"Nice to meet you too, Bailey!" says Rex.

Isaac happened to have already noticed Steph taking the pizza, and was about to interject himself. Rossetti offers to pay for Steph first, though, which gets a confused blink out of the Delphox.

"Well, uh, i-if you're sure, sir..."

Despite any implied hesitation, he's immediately off behind the stand, returning with another spinach pizza just as quickly as he did the first time.

Eh, guess you guys are right. He's already pallin' around with da Kadabra who showed up and whoever dat Sandshrew is. (Marsha says to Marlon and Rainmaker.) Welp, off to da fun house den?

Narcia Party

Yeah, guess so. Let's be on.

I turn and head on to the funhouse once again. Kevin quickly catches up to Rainmaker and us and does the same.

Narcia Party

"Aw, Rex..." Bailey is starting to tear up again. He can't help himself, and soon he grabs Rex and hugs him tightly. "I'm so glad I'm not alone."

"Yeah," says Rex, returning the Drifloon's hug. "It'll be alright. We'll stick together."

"Yeah..." Bailey smiles. "We'll be fine."

"So... now what? Maybe we should see the festival?"

"Good idea!" says Rex. "It looks pretty fun... where should we go first?"

He looks around and spots Marsha's group.

"Want to see where they're headed?" he asks Bailey.

"Certainly!" says Bailey.

Bailey goes up to the group with Rex.

"Excuse me, can we go with you?" Bailey asks. "We're kinda new to this place."

Narcia Party

Before my train of thought could continue the Drifloon re-accosted us, with a friend in tow. Who's this Sandshrew?

Uh, yeah, you can come with. Who's your friend, though?

"My name's Rex," he says. "I just got here, I think... we both seem to have lost our memories."

Narcia

[And just like that, there be another pizza. I look to my immediate left and right to ensure no interlopers stop me from getting it this time, and I quickly grab the pizza.]

"Uhh, thank you!" [Somewhat wrangling with the pizza, I quickly make it to a table and just start fucking tearing into it. Really, I honestly regret not eating in town, but at the same time, I highly doubt that anything in Holstown would've been half as good as this. Seriously, how do you make this in, like, ten seconds and it turn out this good? I even end up sucking the sauce off my fingers; I probably look like such a pig right now, but who cares, right?]

Breathing a sigh, Higgins makes his way towards the crowd. Lenton sticks by the back, noting that the crowd seems to have calmed, spreading out a little as they talk amongst one another. The Dos Santos patriarch on stage must've gotten them calmed down or something.

Higgins leaves his friend behind as he circles the crowd, drawing the attention of some of the crowd. An especially dirty look from a Bounsweet makes him avert his gaze from the crowd, silently saddling along as he nears the stage. Unbeknownst to him with his gaze affixed ahead, he's managed to draw the attention of a sizable portion of the crowd, who start to fall silent as he makes it beside the ramp up.

Rather than going up the ramp, he simply turns himself around. There's still people who haven't noticed, but there's a good many people awaiting what he'll do next, many people not really sure how to feel considering the last time one of their leaders stepped up onto the stage. Did he play a part in this? Is he going to apologize? Will he do something about Amy?

Oh, so ya also used ta be human? (Marsha asks Rex.)

(Oh good, here comes the mayor. I feel everyone's gaze turning to him and I just sort of melt into my seat, sighing with relief.)

You good, Goobert? (I hear Mia ask me.)

Y-Yeah, I think... (I say.)

(Upon on stage, Mr. Dos Santos notes the mayor's arrival at the stage.) Oh, there you are, Rave. Anything you want to tell us?

Dana blushes. "Ah.. Niles, that- Where in the hell did you come from?!" She awkwardly jerks away from Steph, whatever she was about to say to Niles lost.

Whatever sentiment Dana was about to share was interrupted as the Kadabra I found earlier somehow intruded on our conversation. Probably telepathy. Even so, I can't help but feel extremely disappointed. I sigh. "Dana… this is Steph. She's a human that I found earlier when I was looking for Autumn and Mila. Steph, this is Dana." No description shall be provided.

Steph nods agreeably at this as she levitated after grabbing a pizza from a nearby store and sitting between the sandshrew and drifoon, "Yes, I noted both of them, is there any place for us to stay while here? It's nice to meet both of you, although I haven't seen any generation 1 pokemon for ages..." she says, regarding the sandshrew, although she does have a kind smile for Dana and the others.

Of course, Marsha takes the words right out of my mouth, but still fits well to be sure. Three of them appearing in the last few hours or so? It's odd, to say the least.

The Cacturne continues to weave her way through the crowd until she finds her way back to Mia.

Isaac, who had not actually left the side of Steph and Eliot's table yet, tilts his head in confusion.

"Generation... one...?"

Steph sweatdrops, "Oh, that was a old term, but even now my own memories are starting to fade away..."

Narcia – The Festival

We resumed going towards the Funhouse, but then, the Drifloon and a new friend of his, a Sandshrew knowm as Rex, came to join our group.

This Rex guy apparently was a human before appearing in this world.

   Yes, there are other former humans here, my dear Rex!   , I confirmed,    And I am one of them!

As Eliot goes off to find food, Mila and Autumn disappear into the crowd for a moment as well, only later returning as Mila holds a cone of ice cream in her paws.

"Are you sure you don't want any, Autumn?"

"No thanks, I'm pretty sure i'd just melt it if I tried to eat it anyways."

"Then I'll be sure to enjoy it for you."

As Mila works her way through the dessert, the pair look for a place to sit and end up back near Eliot, though they don't say anything for the moment. Autumn seems to be mon-watching in the crowd, and after a moment she places a paw on top of Mila's in a small gesture of affection.

"Well, are ya gonna help? I don't wanna talk to strangers if you won't help find her!"

The food seems to have emboldened Sally, whether her bluster is heartfelt or a way for her to hide her fear. She even considers leaving Dinah's hold, but appreciates the extra height too much to give it up for now.

He's right. Some of us have been together for nearly a month now...basically being travelling mercenaries, so to say.
