Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. He gets increasingly frustrated the closer he gets to defeat, but he has the decency to show an opponent respect for winning.

Yellow Kirby can't believe it. He's so close now, and he has six more chances to score those last two runs.

He gives in to curiosity and attempts to read Christopher's mind directly before his next pitch. Unfortunately, A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read and looking into Christopher Robin's head gives both players a nasty Poke in the Third Eye.

"What did you just do!? My head is increasingly painful for no apparent reason. Oh, whatever. Batter up, puffy!"

This ball was in a blinding white, and it seemed to split into 5 after release. There were 4 illusions, and one real one, which Kirby had to guess.

Kirby uses ESP to sense which one is tangible. He hits that one. Unfortunately, he was still reeling from the psychic shock, so he instinctively performs a downwards overhead swing, slamming the ball into the ground right at his feet.

FOUL

"Running out of time, little puff. Running out of steam, running out of energy, running out of patience. "

Christopher sighed, realizing that these could very well describe him too, especially that last one. He threw a ball that looped in and out of range a few times, and would zip to a Strike if it didn't get hit soon enough.

"Hmph. What patience? You're not in your Hundred-Acre Woods, you know. You're in my Green Greens. I have no patience for those like you, who would threaten to bring a winter of death and despair upon my home - my world! In this moment, I am the Sun itself!"

As if to show intent, Kirby drops ESP and entirely assumes the form of HAMMER, before catching the ball in the flames of a Hammer Flip and launching it over the horizon.

HOME RUN! 704.8 YARDS

"You-You fool! You dare defy me? I will end this game right here!"

Christopher jumps back and starts charging something. It's one last ball, swirling with cosmic energy and slowly growing in size. Once it was of a suitable (read: VERY LARGE) size, he hurled it at an unfathomable speed, just fast enough for Kirby to read and hit. There would be no other way to end it. One. Last. Ball.

Okay, I'm back and ready to roll.

Time seems to slow to a crawl from Kirby's perspective. He backflips quite a distance away from the pitch, then lets out a war cry and holds his hammer in the air.

Kirby's headband lengthens and turns from a blue-and-white cord to a blue-and-red rope tied in a knot, with a shining star on Kirby's forehead. His hammer gets bigger. Then it gets even bigger, now as large as Christopher Robin himself, covered in festive patterns. Finally, it becomes a gigantic, golden, star-studded smasher.

Time returns to its normal flow, and GRAND HAMMER KIRBY swings horizontally with all his might. The hammer collides with Christopher Robin's final pitch. Cosmic energy sprays from the ball, and stardust flies out the back of the hammer's head. All of Planet Popstar quakes with the fury of an apocalypse, as these two final moves push against each other with full force.

Christopher Robin gets one turn to try and beat the Grand Hammer, through either trickery or sheer power.

Christopher pushes against the hammer, more and more balls pushing and combining, making the one ball bigger and bigger.

"Poor yellow puff, even now you crumble and perish. Even your best power is no match for my own!"

One last ball pushes into it, one that was roughly half the size of the hammer, increasing the size of the ball again.

Alright, it's almost time for the ending to play out, all depending on your next post.

Like I said, Kirby can launch meteors across light years with a regular baseball bat.

Yellow Kirby starts to slide backwards across the ground, dragging scars through it. His hammer is pushed back slightly, but only slightly. By the same token, however, the ball is slowly sliding off the center of the hammer's head.

At last, Kirby falters. The ball sends him spinning backwards, but by a fluke the hammer whirls around and instantly collides with it again before it gets past Kirby. This second full-force impact weakens the ball tremendously.

Kirby is able to swing the ball in a circle once, twice, thrice, then he lets go of the hammer itself. It carries the ball right back to Christopher Robin and explodes in his face with nuclear force (though not nuclear size), launching the ball into the stratosphere.

Several tense moments pass...

Somewhere on the opposite side of the planet, a crater forms.

HOME RUN!

Round Complete!

"Heh, heh, heh. You're good."

Christopher stands there where the explosion was. He has suffered a good deal of Clothing Damage, his arm seems limp, and most of the balls and energies surrounding him have disappeared or dissipated.

"I'll see you around. You were fun. Let's have a fair game next time, okay Worthy Opponent?"

The few balls that were left swirl and from within them, Christopher Robin disappears.

Kirby had done what few could; Defeat the Harbinger of Winter. Popstar was once again safe, and he may have even made a new ally. He was gone as soon as he had appeared. One would wonder if he was even real in the first place...

Oops, sorry, I wanted to play out one last thing.

Before Christopher Robin disappears, Kirby uses ESP to talk to him again. "Do you know when the Sun is closest to the world?"

"It's in winter, of course. In my domain."

"Exactly. I am the harbinger of the Sun itself, so when you are strongest, so am I." This is, of course, not true, but Yellow Kirby's earlier display of power makes it seem sincere.

"Next time, we can play a different game. I'll pitch, and you'll catch. Winner gets to eat the loser's favorite food in their face. Sound fun?"

Then, the previously mentioned events happened as described.

And once all is said and done, Yellow Kirby takes a Warp Star back to Earth, to the fast-food place he was working at when he was first introduced to the Arena...

YAAAY this was fun! Only two fights in and Kirby's already befriended both a living weapon and a Humanoid Abomination! Can't wait to see what's next, and I think I'm ready to take on a melee (more than 2 fighters)! Thanks for the fight. Bye!

Above the water, a yellow pegasus in a sailor's outfit flies, patrolling the coast.

On her back, a heavily armed Air Force base. Holding with it, roughly thirty jets, ninety men, and a massive amount of armaments.

Only problem: they're miniature.

One particular army guy happens to spot the girl, and notifies his superiors. The pegasus, after being notified, flies down to the girl to investigate. "Hello."
