Well that's... lazy. They go out of their way to include realistic gemsboks and kudus but they couldn't even bother to use the right rhino species? I mean the original movie and both its sequels used black rhinos. Hell, the first animal we see onscreen is a realistically drawn black rhino.
So now the cartoon is more realistic than the "live action" version. Fail.
And Indian rhinos have one horn while African rhinos have two.

It was an inaccuracy in Favreau's. Indian wolves are lankier than European and American ones. It may have been an intentional one since Western ones' larger coats look more dramatic. There's a number of other species inaccuracies in the film, listed on its page.
But most of them are pretty easy to not notice. This rhino one is pretty glaring. When I was six I already knew about different rhino species and how Indian ones are "armored" while African ones are not. Read a lot of Zoobooks.
At least they removed Rafiki's tail.

Good to know I did notice the (lack of a) tail, heh.
Even Black Panther used the right rhinos.
Mandrills actually do have small tails (although, as I’ve said before, I would’ve preferred if they changed him to a baboon).
Peace is the only battle worth waging. The wildebeest stampede cuts away right before they show a larger pack. Even in the original film the ravine was a bottleneck and the insanity was more about the narrow space than being a Lord of the Rings-esque army.
I don't mind the animation, I really enjoyed The Jungle Book remake primarily for that reason as it resulted in some genuinely impressive cinematography. I do hope it doesn't fall into the "we must rewrite everything to address those Buzzfeed/Cracked lists of criticisms" trap most of the remakes fall into (which among the remakes The Jungle Book largely avoided). Evolve the story, don't try to explain things that don't need to be explained.
I find it interesting that the only white guys in the cast are the stuffy British bird (John Oliver as Zazu) and the comic relief (Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan as Timon and Pumbaa).
Disney has trademarked “Hakuna Matata”, learning nothing from the Coco fiasco before.
The petition mentioned in the link is here, and it’s doubled since the news post.

Or the bit where they tried to sell costume Maori tattoos after Moana, for that matter.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain."Be Prepared" may just be in the remake after all. Skyler Shuler of the Dis Insider has said on his Twitter account that Be Prepared will be featured.

Remake animated movie into live-action kinda fell disrespect for the animated movie. Disney keep promote these live-action version like they an upgrade version, a better version compare to the animated one, like they saying animated movie will never be as good as live-action one.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieDisney has never said that.
Stories get remade and readapted all the time. That's how storytelling works. Disney isn't attacking your childhood by making a new movie based on a story they adapted before.
Overrelying on name recognition? Yes. Attempting to devalue their old films? No.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Personally what I find odd is that this movie is sold as being "live action", but aren't all the characters CGI? Wouldn't that just make it a really photorealistic animated movie?
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Disney has never used the phrase “live-action” in any of their press releases for the film.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I know they wouldnt do it, but a part of me hopes they'd scrap Hakuna Matata, and replace it with Warthog Rhapsody.
Or, if the must include Hakuna Matata, they should re-instate Timon's cut verse, as honestly, the song feels incomplete without it.
I was really hoping they'd fit Shadowland in the film somewhere, to be honest. It's pretty much my favourite song from the musical.
New trailer but no new footage
New poster[1]◊
No subliminal bikini image this time. lol
Poster looks pretty cool. Let's hope the next new footage we get isn't as bad as Aladdin
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterI was there when the original The Lion King first aired, and baby Simba looks as adorable as ever! So cute!

In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!Yeah, what?
"You see what you want to see" is my take
meanwhile Dr. Freud. is suggesting something altogether
New theme music also a box
Tsk tsk. Know your rhinos, Disney.
Sort of off topic but kind of related — I noticed that the wolves in Mowgli have shorter coats, which makes sense. Does that mean the wolves in Favreau's Jungle Book were inaccurate, or is it a seasonal coat/regional subspecies thing?
