@M84 Oh we're talking about Gigan? He's indeed a cool monster. Does he even have any concrete origin story? Like where did these space bugs find this giant knife Penguin? Is he native to their planet? Was he an organic until they modified him? Was he always evil or did they mess with his mind? Seriously Gigan needs a solo movie for these questions alone.

Random thought: We really Need a Godzilla Vs Cthulhu movie. I've probably mentioned that before but I think it NEEDS to happen.

Didn't they make a comic about the Big G wrecking hell? Seeing that on the big screen would be crazy.

&I'd pay to see those.

Godzilla in Hell is probably the best graphic novel I've ever bought. And DOES have a cthulu esque figure in it.

But it's not the same. I want human characters to be pushed to the brink of insanity by eldritch abominations that pick them off one by one before Godzilla shows up and shows them what a real horror can do.

I'd like to see a Godzilla movie unrelated to Monsterverse with a similar dark tone to Return of Godzilla, where Godzilla is the main antagonist but would also still fight another monster. Sort of like Godzilla Raids Again, complete with the monsters fighting how you'd expect two giant animals to fight like, rather than the over the top fighting from the Showa films.

Alternatively, if we were to ever have any of the Alien factions return again someday, I'd love to see the Simians really play up the "can perfectly disguise themselves as humans" angle and use that to plant spies in important positions of power while the people they replace are captured and disposed of. Sort of like Skrulls from Marvel, but without actual shape-shifting and instead with perfect human mask replicas.

TIL that the next Godzilla movie coming later this year will be directed by the same guy who directed Lupin III: The First.

Has there been any word about if it will be animated or live-action?

Yamazaki has directed both in the past.

Meanwhile, probably one of my favorite Godzilla vs Military fights from the Heisei era, if only for the Military theme here:

The irony being its one of the more triumphant March themes, but they get curb stomped arguably the worst in the entire Heisei series.

The new Toho film, Godzilla Minus One comes out in Japan in November 3 and opens in USA in December!

It is me, or the roar is near identical to the one from the first movie in 1954?

Considering the movie's a period piece set during the time when Og Godzilla 1954 came out, its fitting he gets his old roar.

Love the Heisei esque look he's got going too.

The design for Godzilla is almoat a dorect rip from the ride, minus the dorsal plates.

I do hope they're keeping another monster behind closed doors though. Shin scratched my itch for a solo movie already.

That's my hope.

I know it's like, shallow, and the solo movies are probably the better works of art because they're more focused, but I really do like watching Godzilla throw down with another monster.

I've really warmed up to the Ride design, so I'll take it.

Shame it's not a suit from what I can tell, but oh well. Excited to see more.
